Jade Restaurant

Hidden upstairs in an old commercial building in the busiest area of Kowloon right on Nathan Road, not a lot of people know this place exist. So most of their patrons are locals and people that work in the area. Just like all other Char Chaan Tein in the city they open early and close late to serve all meals all day, from regular stirred fry items to fancy restaurant quality dishes.
Jade is our regular place for group gathering, for a number of reasons. The location — it conveniently located and close to the Yaumatei MTR station for everyone to get there easily and swiftly. It’s also not known to tourists, so it’s less busy and much quieter at night. Price — everything is very reasonably priced, and there is no service nor corkage charges. Food quality — very good given it’s only a Char Chaan Tein. Service — not extremely attentive but good enough to be not disturbing. Space — their dinging room is big, hard to find these days when rent is sky high. The most important — it’s a mom & pop operation and not a chain! With all my support for local small businesses, they have all my votes.
So if your are entertaining a large or very large group with a limited budget, this place is a very good choice. For very large groups, reservations are always best.
