My grandma says this place we have to come for fresh hot pineapple bun with cold butter on it. While eating it, the butter melts and mixes up with the sweet flavor of the bun. It can be enjoyed as a breakfast or quick lunch. At lunch this comes with redbean drink as a combo. I’d come again anytime.

We took the advise and went for the pineapple buns. HOTOUTOFTHEOVEN! You actually see the guy hoist the pan over his head and cart them out from the kitchen to the street, where they also sell the buns as well. This was my first pineapple bun experience, but the bar as been set. Served with butter… absolutley scrumptous! You will want one for your own, so no sharing is recommended. They are that good! We went in for a late lunch/early dinner around 4PM because we were in the area having come from the bird and fish markets near by. The place was busy, but no wait. The place is kind of messy only because they do a lot of volume and there are signs of a busy business… marks on tables, food on floor, etc. Nothing dirty though or any reason not to grab a meal. Very inexpensive and a good simple meal. Short the amazing pineapple bun, the fresh spinach dumplings in the vermicelli soup I had were noteworthy. You can see and taste the freshness and see the handmade touch to these dumplings. They sure pack a lot of spinach in one little dumping. They were good. The menu does have some English and also pictures, so you could navigate your way through if you spoke and read no Chinese. The staff seems friendly that they would probably find the one guy who speaks some English to help if need be. And remember, all you really need to know is to order the pineapple bun! I would be remiss though to not note that we were most impressed by the head waiter/host who is tasked with welcoming you and getting you to a table and finding you a seat. Including us and evey single person we saw walk into this restaurant, that waiter/host was on it… always a quick sincere welcome, verbally strong tone to his voice, body language supports his appreciation for our visit. He was so friendly and set the tone for our experience in this bustling Hong Kong coffee shop. We would absolutley return to this place and for a simple Hong Kong style coffee shop experience and a great pineapple bun experience, I suggest you do as well.

Just so so compared to another nearby bo lo bao place. However, the inside is a bit more upscale than the other eateries in the area. Lunch is a good set and breakfast is always great with lemon tea.

Took CNN’s advice and checked out their pineapple bun — really really good! And the food was super inexpensive. We also got prawn dumplings, which were really excellent, and the noodle bowls were tasty too. The entire bill was about $ 6USD and they seemed shocked when I offered a tip. Very authentic and friendly; but we were nervous about drinking the tap water.

In addition to regular HK café style food they have very fresh pineapple buns and other baked buns. Great for breakfast or late night snack.
