I’ve died and gone to Hello Kitty heaven. Everything in this restaurant is Hello Kitty, from the décor to the food. This place was kind of hard to find. It’s not in a mall or close to anything of significance. It’s just a stand alone restaurant with its gift shop next to it. We ordered the shrimp dumpling, chicken feet, turnip cake, and steamed egg white with prawn and Hello Kitty rice. Everything that we ordered was good, no complaints. It tasted like dim sum from above average spots. The food was really cute. It had Hello Kitty faces on a lot of the dishes. It was almost too cute to eat. The reason why I took off one star was because I also wanted to get the spring rolls. They told me that they were out. However, as we were leaving, I saw them bring it out to another table. Also, the chicken feet was supposed to have a Hello Kitty tag on it from the photos, but ours didn’t have one. Be sure to stop by the gift shop next door. I was expecting a full on gift shop, but surprisingly, they weren’t selling that many items. I didn’t see any pens, pencils, or erasers. They sold snacks, magnets, a few bags, dried mushrooms, and keychains of one design. Everything that they sell is tailored to this store. It has either the Hello Kitty Chinese Cuisine or Hong Kong mark on it.

Food was okay. Way too expensive for what you get. Would not recommend to a friend. Served us some pickled cucumber dish we never ordered and made us pay for it. Ended up paying about $ 100HK more than what was expected from hidden costs(on top of the ridiculously high prices) Ludicrous!!!

When I knew I was going to Hong Kong, the first thing on my priority to-do list was make sure I got a reservation at the Hello Kitty dim sum restaurant. The place is smaller than I expected, but well decorated. I love that they incorporated Hello Kitty with class into a restaurant. Instead of feeling like a kid restaurant where there’s hello kitty everywhere, everything was done with a nice subtle touch. They even drew hello kitty portraits as the four historical beauties of China. The menu is quite vast. You have your typical dim sum. Some of the items are shaped as hello kitty, while some only have hello kitty garnishes. Of course I ordered the ones shaped like hello kitty to get plenty of photo opportunities. The dim sum was surprisingly delicious, way better than the dim sum in LA. I wasn’t expecting much given that it is a themed restaurant. But the dim sum here was good. The presentation was refined and definitely looked like hello kitty. The skin on the Har Gow(shrimp dumpling) was thin, with a slight chewiness, just the way it is suppose to be. The bread on the Chinese Sausage Roll was soft and airy, unlike the dense buns we find in LA. The Steamed Radish Cake had tons of radish in it instead of the typical dense flour taste we find at other dim sum places. They had a dish called Three Generations, and its basically one huge hello kitty bun, and underneath the bun are three small buns, each filled with either white lotus seed paste(delicious!) or salted-egg yolk filling(also delicious!). It’s a bit pricey when you’re technically only getting 3 buns, but this makes for such a great photo opp! The menu also had lots of non-dim sum items, like noodles, rice, and stir fry. I didn’t get to try them, but they did sound and look delicious! While the price is on the high side for dim sum, the extra cost is in the labor it costs to handmake the dim sum to look like hello kitty. Since it was the restaurant’s first anniversary, they had several promotions going on. After eating more than $ 600HK(around $ 75+) worth of food, we got a free special edition tiny hello kitty plush. And when you dine at the restaurant, you get 10% off at the souvenir shop next door! If you’re a hello kitty fan, it’s definitely worth a visit! The food is delicious and everything is so cute! And you’ll notice that the people who go aren’t all just there for hello kitty. There were lots of regular lunch customers who went just for the delicious dim sum! Directions: It takes almost a 5 – 7 minute walk if you exit Jordan station.

It’s a Hello Kitty themed restaurant. They serve tea bag instead of loose tea. I ordered shrimp dumplings, shrimp and vegetables(chives, spinach) dumplings, mango pudding. The food is pricey here. But I had a challenging day so I decided to come here. They forgot the mango pudding so I asked them to remove it from the bill and it save my wallet. There is a store next door that sells wine, dry food(not really typical Hello Kitty goodies). With the restaurant bill, you get a 10% discount for any purchase at the store.

Wow! What a great experience! I have known my wife for close to fifteen years. Only recently did I find out about her childhood love of all things Hello Kitty. It was our first day in Hong Kong, and we are waking from Tsim Sha Tsui up to Mong Kok. What did we happen to stumble by on the way?! Hello Kitty Dim Sum! We already had lunch plans that day, but we agreed to go there the next day. Wow. That dim sum was so special in presentation. Honestly, A+++ for presentation. Take a look at some of the pics, but the turnip cake was a giant hello kitty face! Each bun was a hello kitty! You could get fried dumplings in the shape of bow ties too! As for the flavor? I also felt it was pretty top notch. Was it the best we had during our trip? No it wasn’t, but it was very very good, and that is not even taking the presentation into account. The service was also great. We had a stroller with an infant, and they were able to find us a seat in the back where they baby wouldn’t bother us. This was impressive, considering how crowded it was. I’m sad we didn’t have a bigger group so we couldn’t try the giant hello kitty custard bun! This is a fun place to visit. I can only imagine how much fun it would be if you had a child with you that loved hello kitty.

As a hello kitty’s fan, this is the best place to visit in Hk. This is the only Chinese dim sum with authorised hello kitty theme in the world. Taste-wise, please don’t expect anything exciting. The taste itself is not bad, similar to low end dim sum restaurant. However, they are charging 3X and that’s what make it a 2 stars. One tips to share is: those dishes with no kitty’s face actually taste better — but sadly that’s no why we came for

Everything here is SOCUTE! I wasn’t planning on coming here during my trip to Hong Kong but it popped up on Unilocal when I was searching nearby places to eat. Since it was so close to our hotel, I just had to stop by :) We only ended up ordering two items – custard bun and sausage roll – since we already ate a bit before coming. I chose these items just because they looked cute on the menu and they had hello kitty’s face on it :3 Not only were the dim sum items cute but they were surprisingly good as well. This place is not cheap though – with 2 items plus tea for 2 people the bill was already $ 20USD. Each dim sum item costs around $ 7. Pricey since $ 20 at dim sum can normally get you a lot more food but for a once-in-a-lifetime/not gonna return thing the price was worth the novelty of it.

Cute concept but not impressed with the taste and price! If you love Hello Kitty like I do, you will enjoy dining at this restaurant! Everything including restaurant décor, plate settings, tables and chairs and the food is Hello Kitty theme! You can order dim sum and rice and noodle dishes on the menu. It is super cute that each dish has Hello Kitty’s face on it! I tried the pork buns, steamed cake, fried shrimp and quail egg balls, which is on their Easter limited menu, apple chicken rice, egg white and shrimp rice. When each dish comes, everyone at the table takes out their phones to take pictures. By the time we dig in, the food has cooled down. But overall the taste is rather bland and lack of flavors. I do give them credit on presentation. Everything was just too cute to eat.

This is for the service and confusion, not the actual food since I wasn’t being served. Straight forward and easy to find restaurant from my hotel. Upon arrival, I saw tables still eating. The man asked how many and after I told him table for 1, he said to come back in 2 hours at 6PM. Like, what? I checked Unilocal before arriving and it said they were open. I also checked the menu outside and the door for signage that would explain their refusal of service and couldn’t find any. If you’re closed, then don’t ask me how many in my party. If you have a break before dinner service, PUTUP A SIGNOFYOURBUSINESSHOURSONTHEPREMISE, on the menu or anywhere for that matter.

Took us a while to find this restaurant from Jordan station, ended up getting a taxi and even the driver didn’t know where so had to use my phone to work it out! If we had come out the right exit, for canton road we would found it easily! We went in about 1.30pm and it wasn’t busy, though it is Thursday, so thankfully we got a table for three. The menu has photos but no English. We were given a choice of Chinese tea, and then went to order a plate of beef noodles to share(it is a big dish and plenty for 3 of us!) then had har-gow, vegetable & prawn dumplings as well as the custard buns. Also ordered the glutinous rice. It was good, the noodles could had more salt /soya sauce so I asked for chilli sauce to give it more taste! I don’t normally like the veg & prawn dumplings but these were very nice! A cute restaurant though I thought there would be more cakes etc like the Bangkok one. But it’s a different style. It cost us $ 433 for 3 people. There is service charge added.

Hello Kitty branded Restaurant in Kowloon. The Restaurant is famous for the Hello Kitty looking Dim Sums. The taste wasn’t the best at all. I would say it is a standard quality. Nothing special the look excluded. For Hello Kitty Fans like my girlfriend it is a must have. If you are not a Kitty Fanboy choose another Dim Sum place.

I went there before their official opening. First, it was great idea to have a Hello Kitty Dim Sum restaurant in Hong Kong. As a Hello Kitty Fan, this is a «must go» place on my list when I traveled Hong Kong. The location wasn’t easy for me to look for as a «half tourist». I had super great service there with the staffs. Honestly, food was mediocre(but I heard they have more new item now). Yes, it is a little pricey compare to other dim sum restaurant but I enjoyed the moment with the Hello Kitty theme, plus the extra work with the Hello Kitty dim sum.

If you love Hello Kitty or all cute things this is a MUST go place for you. You get what you’re paying for — you’ve got to keep this in mind the entire time. And that’s the real worth of this experience. Would I ever go here again? Probably not, but it was totally worth the photos and never ending squealing of how cute everything is. I came in at 11am right when it opened to supposedly«beat the crowd» but by the time we finished at around 12 the place was barely full. I suppose the novelty has worn off by now. FYI: If you want to order the GIANT hello kitty bun — you’ve got to preorder it. For a place like this, I had assumed that it was mainly for the looks and wasn’t expecting much for the taste but I was surprised. Everything was on par with the dim sum in Hong Kong(although like 2−3x more expensive). For the food we ended up ordering: + Hello Kitty Yellow Custard Buns — Oh my they’re so cute. These are the perfect buns that you see in every photo of hello kitty dim sum. And the egg yolk flowed out freely. + Siew Mai: This one comes with 4 but only one has hello kitty’s face on it. The others are decorated with a small bow. Not bad as well. + Set Dish(Rice with spinach purée and egg): This was surprisingly good! The green sauce super yummy and this dish ended up filling us up. I would highly recommend coming here for the photo ops. Everything in this place just plaster Hello Kitty’s face on it and I love it. Everyone else here will be taking tons of photos as well so no need to feel out of place when you whip out your phones /dslr’s and stand up to take photos: p

This was definitely one of the places I had on my «must see» list when I went to Hong Kong. I did not felt like this disappointed me at all based off what I saw on buzzfeed and facebook. I came here during lunch because when my cousin called, she said they are not as pack during lunch time on a week day compared to the weekend. There was no wait and the food came out super quick. My favorite was the flat noodles(that you’ll see in my pictures). There was barely any excess oil/grease and that was delicious. Every dish we ordered had some aspect of Hello Kitty on it, whether it was a garnish or the plate or the design of the dish. I must say I’m glad I came and the manager that was there was super nice and told us to take pictures anywhere we like and I even left with their Hello Kitty dim sum doll.

I made it my number one priority to make it here as soon as I found out of it’s cute little existence. Luckily, I was staying near by so I walked the few blocks to get to it. Please note, it’s on a weird side street parallel to Canton Rd(you can see the restaurant from Canton Rd) and in between Austin Rd and the park. Important to know as I walked by it three times. Stupid foreigner problems. The place normally attracts a line as soon as they open. But I got seated right away — immediately my HK fandom was content. Note to you: they charge for everything. Oh you want regular water? Let’s get you a huge bottle of water and charge you three times for it. Tip? Included. I know you’re just coming for the novelty but come half way full. The prices for the adorable dim sum is about four times the average and tastes about four times worse than the norm. Spent about $ 30USD for about three items. But I would say I took about $ 30USD in photos all over the establishment just like the other tourists. Get you HK fix and know that this is the first and only HK dim sum spot in Hong Kong. Next stop… The Hello Kitty airline!

Look, if you’re a fan of Hello Kitty, this could be a good place to visit… once. If you’re not a fan, then be prepared to be disappointed and leave slightly hungry. Dim sum is passable, although there are definitely better places around the city at a fraction of the price. Truth be told, many items we ordered off the menu were solely for the photo ops. I visited at 1pm on a weekday and had no problems getting a table. In fact, many tables were left empty during our visit – the wild popularity the restaurant was getting when they first opened appears to have dissipated.

This is one of the cutest restaurants I have ever been to. I’m a fan of Hello Kitty and all things Sanrio(though I wouldn’t say I’m a die-hard fan), and since I was in Hong Kong, I decided that I needed to check this place out. I didn’t realize this place didn’t open for dinner until 6, and I had arrived around 545. There was one more party ahead of me waiting to eat. Just before the place opened, a man came out and gave us numbered tickets. I was seated immediately and perused the English menu. One side is the Hello Kitty dim sum, all the steamed buns and dumplings. The other side has more like rice plates and stuff. I got the Hello Kitty lotus seed buns, the Hello Kitty shrimp dumplings, the Hello Kitty chicken in apple with fried rice, and the almond tofu dessert. Everything in the restaurant has Hello Kitty’s face or her bow on it. There’s a statue of Hello Kitty holding a steamer basket of dim sum, the light fixtures on the ceiling have her face, the wooden chairs have her bow imprinted on them. The plates, the cups. Even the restroom doors have a Hello Kitty face for the ladies room and a Hello Kitty with a mustache for the mens room. The lotus seed buns were delicious. They were super cute too. You get three of these. I thought that the shrimp dumplings were really tasty too. You get four of these and only one of them have her face, the other three have just the bow. The rice plate that I got was just okay. The chicken and the sauce were fine, but weren’t amazing enough to be worth stomach space. I did not like the almond tofu dessert. I didn’t like the consistency of the almond tofu and the fruit in it was terrible. The blueberries and the strawberries were no good. And the peaches in it were from a can. In retrospect, instead of ordering the rice plate, I would’ve just ordered the Hello Kitty custard buns or the Hello Kitty Cantonese sponge cake. Oh and they charge for the tea. But I have to have tea when I’m eating dim sum. And the teapot has her face on it too! It was a fun experience and the dim sum is just super adorable!

If you’re a fan of Hello Kitty you would love this place. But if you’re hungry-man and you’re here to eat OR on the lookout for authentic chinese dimsum, then you’re at the wrong place. The décor here really is ‘hello kitty everything’ — chopsticks, bowls, napkins etc. I ordered the custard bun which seems to be the hit, it was flowing with custard oozing out just as it should. The shrimp dumplings were ‘ok’, only 1 had the hello kitty eyes and whiskers so the ones with just the bow looked a bit creepy without a face. Came on the weekend, wait was about 10 mins which isn’t bad. Loads of tourists though and because of this they do charge a premium for mediocre dimsum. Come for the cats and you’d have a great time.

Are you a true hello kitty fan? The restaurant exterior and interior design was super kawaii. Hello kitty everything. Just not the restrooms. The food was decorated with hello kitty features which was really cute and reminded me of the times I was in Hello Kittyland in Japan. However, the taste of the food was not that great for the price they command for and the ambience was not what I expected. It was kind of loud since there were a lot of tourists… And it was kind of hard to enjoy the food…

If you’re coming here strictly for the dim sum, then don’t get your hopes up. You should know better that HK offers some of the world’s best dim sum — just at other restaurants. HOWEVER, if you’re coming here to scope out the new restaurant, check out some great«Hello Kitty» décor, food, and fun, then you’re in for a good time! :) I dragged my husband here to check out the FIRST and ONLY Hello Kitty«dim sum restaurant» in the world. It was featured on some articles last month, so since I was in HK for a short period of time, I figured we’d swing by and try their dim sum. I’m not even a Hello Kitty fan in the first place, but why not give it a shot to see what the big fuss is about? We came around 2:00 pm, so there was no line, and we got a seat immediately. Ordered 3 items — all dim sum related items: (1) custard filled buns — the buns were Hello Kitty faces, so plump, round and cute! loved them; almost way too cute to eat! (2) shimp dumplings — these were cute as well, but out of the 4 dumplings — only 1 of them had the full Hello Kitty face. (3) sweet red bean pastry — these came with plastic Hello Kitty toothpicks The tables, plates, teapots, and cups/bowls were all decked out in Hello Kitty carvings. Hello Kitty was stamped into the bathroom door, along with chopsticks, lanterns, mirrors, etc. hahahaha… way too much Hello Kitty overload for 1 day! :) Overall, it’s a fun place to visit(especially with kids) if you’re a Hello Kitty fan. Get your camera ready! More photos here:
