So, here I am. I find myself in Hong Kong, kicking it. I got a taste for Thai food! I NEVER have a taste for Thai food. I attribute my new found craving to a night of new found liver bashing [Read: A night of drinking *cough cough* slow Unilocalers] So, I go ahead and try this spot. I ordered the Noodles with chicken meatballs. It was good. I ordered the Mango sticky rice for dessert. It was AMAZING! So, why the 3 stars? Service here is HORRIBLE. Like, the staff is so aloof and confused about life. It’s definitely overpriced. But, if you want good food, I’d recommend it, just don’t expect good service.

Food = 4 Ambience = 5 Service = 5 The food was fabulous. Thai fusion with a touch of Italian and other Asian. Huge menu selection with appetizers, salads, soups, hamburgers, sandwiches, mains, and desserts. Would order again: Complicated Noodle Light Tom Yum Soup Fried Vietnamese Spring Rolls Crispy Sweet Corn with Crab Meat Noodle with Thai Braised Beef Balls — Dry Fettuccione with Asparagus Mango Crêpe Cake Wouldn’t order again: Fried Sea Bass with Green Mango Dressing Greyhound Famous Fried Chicken Wings We ate here twice during our stay in Hong Kong.

This particular Greyhound café has a special place in my heart because this was the first place I went to eat after my son was born. It may have been for the fact that I was starved beyond normal human capability that I found it to be so nice– but I have heard from the others and I am happy to report that my taste buds were normal on that day. Situated on the umpteenth floor of Grand Century Plaza(the floor numbering system is extremely confusing), the Greyhound café offers you a quiet(relatively) area to sit back and relax after going on a shopping spree or simply looking to escape from the heat of Mongkok and Prince Edward. The design of the shop is quite relaxed as with other Greyhounds. I had a good position at the corner with a sofa and was only disturbed by a gaggle of children sitting next to us; if it were adults I think we would have been left in peace– good enough to read a book. The menu is just a mixture of burgers, salads and noodles as well. It being a Thai funded operation(I have been told), there is not a single hint that this place is actually a «fusion» establishment and I think they have done this on purpose so as to not to muddle the market position. The prices are a little steep but for the quality of the experience I am happy to pay the price. The burger was sublime– though I was starving which may have affected my judgment– the other food served was also excellent according to others in attendance. Improvements? Well service was slightly patchy as we sat in the corner and they managed to forget our orders– that was a genuine mistake and I am willing to forgive them as I was in a good mood.
