Strolling around the market, I noticed there was a long line up outside of Gala Café. It was a bit past lunch hour anyhow, so I joined the line. After some research online, the thing to order here is the ham omelette. Also, the Ovaltine slush intrigued me. I was seated with in a booth, sharing it with a couple and another lady. It was surely a tight space. I got my small sized omelette and an Ovaltine slush. The lady next to me then ordered a noodle in soup, and the young couple across ordered a large omlette, wings, and Ovaltine slushes. It’s quite the busy restaurant, people coming in and out, servers shouting out. At the table behind me, there was a lady wrapping dumplings. A large bowl of raw meat, a stack of wonton wrappers, and she just kept on wrapping. After about 15 minutes, the lady next to me got her noodle soup. 5 minutes later, the couple got their large omelette. I could not help but wonder where mine was. I waited another 15 minutes, and inquired about my food. They gave me a brief answer and told me it was coming. Luckily, I was already consuming my Ovaltine slush, which was quite good. Finally, my omelette arrived. I have to say, it was quite large. I wouldn’t say it’s anything special except for its size. Yes, the egg was smooth, but I felt like they really rushed cooking it, so the inside was quite raw. Personally I don’t think it’s worth the wait and the omelette wasn’t a stand out.
