Fuk Wing Street

Been to Fuk Wing street several times and I enjoy the shopping and window shopping. Most people think of it as a place to buy only cheap toys (as in poor quality). But I disagree. There are lots of cheap and nasty toys. But there are also lots of original products like Lego, Hello Kitty, Disney Products and copies. You just have to look. I have not found this place or the Golden Computer Arcade a sleazy place. Nobody really cares. I notice that the men and women are more interested in the products on sale than the bodies milling around!
But all in all this is a great place to visit. It is a tourists paradise. Prices are sort of fixed with little room for bargaining. Shop around and you will find that prices are much the same from shop to shop. In fact the stalls outside the shops tend to be more pricy.

I am very, very rarely seen in this part of town. This is definitely not my hood but occasionally I will bring visitors here or if I really absolutely need something, I will go to Sham Shui Po.
Fuk Wing Street is not somewhere I am completely familiar with, however I have been here and do have a few things to say.
This street is a stone throw away from any of the electronic malls, and the infamous Ap Liu Street, where they sell all the used/​new electronics/​electronic pieces. This street is very similar but less dodgy. It has more variety and usually the shops are not just street stalls.
Fuk Wing Street is also known for their restaurants. There are so many renowned ones on this street. If only I was here more often to check them all out. they also have a lot of dessert shops here. I remember that this street is extremely long, one time we were looking for a dessert shop on this street, we walked about 5 – 6 blocks and still couldn’t find it, we weren’t even close. At the end, we just chose any dessert shop and sat down.
There’s always a lot going on on this street, there’s always lots of people, there are product demonstrations and there are people trying to get a few cents out of you.
It’s great to bring tourists, they love this kind of thing. As for coming here by myself, I think I’ll pass, the guys here are a little sleaze. I suggest if you were a girl on your own, skip it. They won’t do anything to you, but just the sleazy looks are quite off-​putting.
