Elite Event: Taco Sunday at Cali-Mex

It is my first Hong Kong YEE and it is certainly a 5-​star event for me.
This new Cali-​Mex is conveniently located in Causeway Bay. Since it is just newly opened, its liquor license was not issued yet. Therefore, I didn’t get a chance to try the frozen margarita. However, Cali-​Mex served us lots of food in full portion, like tacos and wraps, etc. I was also always made sure I could take a photo of the food first;). There were different flavours of Mexican pops (Jarritos), pure coconut water or mineral water for us to choose from. We are given two drink coupons upon arrival.
I am happy to experience that the Hong Kong fellow Unilocalers are as nice and friendly! Thank you the Hong Kong CM, Kevin L., for the awesome Sombrero idea. It made me feel like I was in Mexico. Of course, the steaming hot temperature in HK also helped lol!
So far, I and my +1 had very good time. I look forward to the next when I will be in Hong Kong again.

Great event! Fun to meet other Unilocalers in Hong Kong and check out Cali-Mex’s newest location. Unilocal and the Cali-​Mex manager Mona did a great job, bringing out lots of different food options to try — burritos, hard tacos, soft tacos nachos and quesadillas. Yum! But they saved the best for last — the churros, which were excellent. All in all a really fun afternoon!

This is my first Unilocal Elite event in Hong Kong! I’ve been to multiple ones in LA, and while those were much bigger, this one was really fun as well! A good amount of people showed up, exceeded my expectations! Regardless, it’s quality over quantity ;)
I’ve been to other Cali Mex locations and they don’t really have a seating area. This one does, which I’m glad since I was scared we’d be standing outside at the Unilocal event.
Once we came in, we wrote our names and got 2 drink tickets each. Kevin L. greeted us with Sombrero hat which he practically forced us to wear ;). Super hot day, luckily, we found a seat right under the Aircon vent. I think closing the back door and part of the front entrance would help keep the cool air in.
Mona brought out nachos with ample meat cheese, sour cream and guac. the nachos are really top rated and did not get soggy even after sitting there for 10 minutes. Also had a Quesadillas and crispy spicy pork taco’s, yum yum yum!
Drinks were varied, but no alcohol license yet. I got a guava mexican soda and coconut water.
They also had burrito’s but I was stuffed!
Met tons of cool and friendly people!

Tips: People were on time! It also ends on time.
Favourites: Good amount of seats, good quality ingredients. Nacho’s!
Meh: A bit hot, restroom door is heavy and hard to open
