If you are in Yuen Long, you must try Kwok Kei’s Pig’s Congealed Blood Congee. Sounds disgusting but tastes AMAZING. For about $ 22 HKD ($ 2.84 USD) you can get yourself a big bowl of this stuff. The curds immediately melt the moment you put it in your mouth and there’s none of that strange smell you’d expect. It feels like you’re eating feta cheese except, well, it’s much more smoother. Did I mention that they melt in your mouth?
This place is kind of hard to find, but I do remember that there’s a McDonald’s on the main road and then you turn into a shopping/​residential area. There are a lot of these side streets there so do explore after your meal here. ;)
