Costal Fitness(CFPT) is by far one of the best gyms I’ve been too. Run by the ridiculously charming and ridiculously good looking Ed Haynes the gym, or Box as they like to call it, has flourished over the years, and I can understand why. CFPT is mainly a Crossfit orientated gym, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t other methods of exercising. In the end, from what I’ve learnt, the trainers are up for any régime as long as it has the clients’ goals at interest. And that’s what it’s all about, the client(me!). I could tell that from the first moment I nervously walked into the gym that Ed and his team were passionate about their job, and serious about improving my body. It wasn’t a one of those«alright, let’s get this over with!» type session, not at all. Ed, with his contagious smile, explained to me the different benefits of doing different types of work outs, the dangers and so forth. I didn’t understand much… I just wanted biceps. By the end of the tour I decided on a Crossfit session — big mistake! I’ve never in my life felt so dead after a workout. I wanted to puke, much to the trainers amusement, and I couldn’t walk properly for 3 days. However, I was back the next week and pushing myself to the limits once again — under the watchful eye of Ed. The 7000 square-foot facility is the complete package, you will not go wanting for equipment or ideas on how to use them, I surely didn’t. The vast knowledge that each trainer has, and their thirst to improve it is astounding. The only critique that I can come with is that, as a beginner, I felt terribly weak, especially standing next to Ed’s brother, Ant, who is just a solid mass of muscle on legs… made of muscle. Once my insecurities were pushed aside I’ve been enjoying CFPT’s hospitality for the last month or so… I still can’t walk properly.
