Really wonderful café! Amazing artisan coffee and dainty cakes. The crunch cake is my fave but there are new ones out all the time. This place is good for hanging out, and working during their down time. It’s got self-service hot and cold water, which is super considerate. The staff is also super nice. There’s also homey sandwiches, salads and waffles. I also dig the choice of music! I fear over-praising them because i wanna keep this place to myself! So erm i think their front door really leaves much to be desired!!!

I just found myself my favorite café — Clover Cake & Coffee House, located in North Point. Most of the times when people go for dessert(and seriously how many people will have the luxury to sit down at a café and enjoy a good old Sunday afternoon in Hong Kong?), they will go for the Honeymoon place where they service ice cream, Chinese sweet soup and stuff. However, it is far from what a café is supposed to be. And I am glad to have found this place. Judging from the store’s appearance, the pseudo-wooden, earthly colour tone gives people such relaxing and sort of like a Taiwanese slash Japanese café. With the two display window you can also see what kind of cakes they have and I guarantee you that you cannot turn your back on this. Surprisingly once I walked in with my friends, I realized most customers here(and the staff too) are mainly females.(all the single guys out there, did you hear me now?) This only means one thing — they definitely serve cakes that are either very scrumptious or appealing looking. Looking at the menu or checking out the display fridge, you can see what cakes they have for today. You may also notice they cater for bigger cakes(yay for birthday party) but that takes a few days prior order. The price range here is around HKD$ 35 to HKD$ 60, which is definitely a bargain compared to other dessert place. I ordered a Crunch Cake with caramel on top(I LOVE caramel) and after a while, I was fairly pleased with the look of it. Very chic with crumbs sprinkling from the top. The first bite came with a refreshing creamy taste and the sweet yet not too strong caramel flavor. The fact that it is rather petite makes it cuter and perfect for girls. On my way out, I always bought a bag of cookies as they claimed to be very healthy made with natural ingredient.

Clover Cake & Coffee House is one of North Point’s best-kept secrets. It’s along Wharf Road, opposite Provident Center, so it’s well tucked away from the hustle and bustle of King’s Road. The café is not big but has quite a few tables and chairs, as well as sofa seats by the side. I normally come at around 4 or 5pm and usually am able to get a seat either immediately or after waiting for a few minutes. The interior of the café is decorated like a dainty bake shop, giving me a very clean and authentic feel. They specialize in cakes but also do toasts and sandwiches, though I haven’t tried those. One of my favorite cakes from Clover is the crunch cake — the cake itself is very smooth and light, and the crunch on top is well, very crunchy and goes really well with the soft texture of the cake. The hot latte is not bad too — smooth and well-bodied, and the balance between the milk and the bitterness from the expresso is just right. They do afternoon cake sets with a drink on weekdays and they’re well worth it, in my opinion! You’ll notice that Clover also sells a lot of cookies that are pre-packed. It makes sense to come here and go straight for the cakes, but don’t overlook these cookies! They normally have samples out for you to try and they’re really not bad. I’ve bought packs of the walnut cookies to enjoy at home and they’re actually really good!
