Bela Vista Villa

Getting tired of the concrete jungle in Hong Kong and looking for a weekend getaway? For lots of locals, they will go for Cheung Chau. Yup. That is the place for the famous Bun Festival, Kwan Kung Pavilion, the Cheung Po Tsai Cave, etc, apart from those, they too have quite a few temples and sea restaurants and beaches. Already looking it up online and ready to book a room? Hang on. Did I fail to mention that this island is haunted?
One of the most notorious places there is called Bela Vista Villa. Yes it does have a nice name. Lots of tourists spend nights there without knowing what happened there before that resulted in such cheap rents. As a matter of fact, there were at least twenty cases of people committing suicide there solely since two decades ago. It is believed that there is a female spirit there at night and it all started years ago when a woman dressed in red cheungsom stabbed her son and then hanged herself.
I am not trying to spook you or anything. There were indeed some teens who dared each other to go spend a night there and I have heard some other horrifying stories about those. Believe it or not, that place does have quite a number of suicides like burning charcoals and stuff.
If you are looking for a different side of Hong Kong, you might just find one there. But do not say that I did not warn you.
