History

Established in 2015.

I came to Hong Kong to get married in 2014 and have a long history as an English teacher.

I started in 2004 as a credentialed adult ESL teacher in Los Angeles, where I also was a speech and drama coach and did sat and toefl test preparation for students coming to the US. Then I was chosen to be a public high school teacher and speech coach in Nagoya Japan. I also taught presentation and technical English for Toyota and medical English for Komaki Hospital. I became a university professor and also taught business English and toeic test preparation and writing.

I moved to Chongqing China to work in PR and marketing. I also taught English for a logistics company and hotels, as well as toefl and sat test preparation and study in the US.

After Chongqing, I became a university professor in Korea and taught toeic. I also did more PR and marketing work.

I came to Hong Kong and opened Ba Lao Shi Perfect English because I love teaching and want to help people.

Hi, I’m Rob. I’m originally from Los Angeles, where I was a writer and minor TV personality but I’ve lived in Asia since 2004. Im married to a wonderful Hong Kong author and Cantonese teacher, Amy Leung.

I’ve written 2 books and have a masters degree, 5 teaching Credentials, a TESL, and excellent references. I have taught kids, middle & high school, university, adult, and business training. I have been a speech and drama coach in high schools and universities and am also a test preparation specialist for toeic, toefl, sat, gmat, ialts, and Hong Kong Examination and Assessment. I am a professional writer and editor and have also done a lot of business training for some big companies in hospitality English, medical, technical, and speechwriting and presentation.

I had come to Hong Kong as a business consultant, but missed teaching, so I opened this school. Helping people is important to me. Im very easy going, but professional, and will do my best for you.
