Much as I like bakes good, it is hard for me not to pay attention to this bakery next to the studio that I usually go. Arome has been a well known name to the local population I suppose and this shop is but just another branch of the franchise; what set this apart from the other shop you see perhaps in MTR stations or right in your neighborhood is that it focuses mainly on sweets. That is, puddings. Aside of the cakes and tarts that are sitting orderly in lines in the display cabinet, you will also see signboards promoting their cream puffs and eclairs; I think you all should know by now I am not a person who will forgo any opportunities in getting something special to eat and that was exactly what I did when i saw the billboard in the shop. To my surprise, instead of getting the puffs directly out from the fridge, the pastry chef gets out an empty puff and fill with confectionery custard in front of me and even dusted the puff with icing sugar before serving. It was a shame that the shell of the puff was not perfectly fresh and crisp, but the filling was creamy and luscious. What I find most unusual is that they are willing to go a step forward in preparing fresh confectionery, assembling the parts only at the last minute to ensure the item remains at its freshest possible state before giving it to the customers, such sincerity is just beyond compare. I have heard that breakfast will also be served in this shop before 11, and I just can’t wait to try out their breakfast items. Sadly I’m no early bird, by the time i got up it is almost teatime i suppose…
