Pay-Less Supermarket

I often go to Micronesia mall and I don’t have a choice but to go here for daily necessities because I’m staying nearby and do not drive.
The advantages of this place are
1. 24 hour open
2. clean and organized
3. more than 1 security guard always stays at the entrance who also can help you with questions
4. cctv on the ceiling that helps prevent or detect the crimes to a certain level
5. good location which is attached to Micronesia mall
6. it has more fresh fruits and vegetables than Kmart
The disadvantage is that the price is a little expensive except the ones on sale specifically.

First, the positives… Payless usually carries everything you need and its conveniently attached to the mall. Service has always been competent, fast and friendly. They also have a section near the produce with a lot of healthier and organic options.
Now, the negatives. As with all grocery stores on Guam, the prices are (initially) shockingly high. Oftentimes they will charge more than other stores but they do have some decent sales now and then (got a coffee maker for $ 10!). I’ve more than once, purchased moldy food here. Once it was granola and a second time it was cheese (which wasn’t set to expire for another month or so). Lessons? 1. Check both the dates and the actual product before buying and 2. Keep your receipts in case you gotta bring the moldy stuff back (the lady that gave me my refund was very apologetic about it). These are lessons you should take with you whenever you shop for groceries on Guam though. Payless is decent but I prefer to buy at Cost U Less or Happy Market when I can.

The name «Pay-​Less» is very misleading. Most of the items are high priced. You’re better off shopping at the smaller «mom and pop» type grocery stores, where you will pay at least 25% less than this place! Bad enough that it’s located in the Micronesia Mall and does not have the selection and variety (like a pharmacy) as the other smaller-​sized Paymore branches around the island!
