This was the only place we could find with a tv to watch the Switzerland vs. Germany soccer game while waiting for our dinner reservation at Fuya next door. Had to explain the concept of a dive bar to my German bf to describe this place. A bit smoky, as the owner himself was smoking(do they still allow smoking indoors in Germany??), but large and homey with lots of wood. Large windows let in lots of natural light. I enjoyed trying two kinds of German beer from the Black Forest, but then switched to a Radler so I wouldn’t be too tipsy before dinner. Was curious about a bank of what looked like gambling machines along the entrance wall, but didn’t get a chance to try them out. It was fairly quiet, with only one other customer when we arrived, but there was a steady stream of about 1 – 2 customers coming and going, so we weren’t the only customers in the place. Two ladies came in and drank prosecco, while the guys of course stuck with beer. The menu had Italian pasta and different kinds of toast, but we didn’t try any of the food. I thought it was a nice place to hang out and chill in an unknown town.
