Globus

Wish they had this in the U.S. A much better version of Walmart. Loved the selection of chocolate advent calendars here. They’re sweets and snacks isles are unrivaled

Clouds parted, heavens opened up and there was Globus! This is how I felt when I first found this gem of a grocery, liquor store, bakery, and household goods store all put together!
Bought a microwave, grill, burner, and 95% of what I have in my fridge, and the best part of it was they let you save your receipts for a whole month and hen claim VAT at the end of the month, which makes you feel as though you are getting reward money back of sort! I cannot do without their butter chicken microwaveable dinner! They also have wide variety of their branded grocery and household goods which are of high quality as well as better warranty then the most bigger brand Said!
So far I have not been able to find cheaper price for a case of Bitburger at 10.99 euros!

We visit Globus at least once a week. The prices are great for beer, wine, food, etc. Electronic and houseware products you can do better at elsewhere. Meat, vegetables and fruit are fresh. The cobbler/​keymaker stand and watch/​clock stand are very reasonably priced. The cafeteria offers great tasting inexpensive selections. Globus beats any large boxstore stateside I’ve ever been too.

This is one big grocery store that’s more than a grocery store. Compare it to a Target Supercenter and add more square footage and more food. Great place to shop for German food. They also have a sort of food court where you can purchase different ethnic foods as well as authentic German cuisine. If you plan on going for the first time, make sure you have enough time on your schedule as you will want to take in all the sampling, scenery and items we cannot purchase in the US of A. Enjoy! This is like a German version of an American Super Target or Walmart. It’s not quite but sort of.

Zu Überfüllt. Lange wartezeiten an der Kasse, egal zu welcher Uhrzeit. Auch nicht immer die Günstigsten. In den Getränken sehr teuer.

Ich finde es super, als solch ein großer Markt sich doch lokalen Bedürfnissen anpasst. So sind dort z.B. alle «Reihen» bzw. Regale sowohl deutsch als auch englisch beschriftet. Ich würde mir jedoch ein etwas ausgeweitertes Sortiment bzgl. amerikanischer Lebensmittel wünschen. Oder besser, dass ist was ich machen würde, um noch mehr Kunde von der Base zu ziehen

Wow — dieser Markt ist viel größer als mein «Heimatmarkt» in Güdingen. Kann aber auch sein, dass er nur so groß wirkt, da alles auf einer Ebene ist.
Ansonsten gilt: gewohnte Globusqualität und Auswahl.
