Cafe Schauburg

On my last full day this trip to Erlangen, I walked around the central part of the town and came across this little café. The combination of me starving past noon and the inviting façade/​outside menu called to me to come in and try this café out.
The inside is a nice atmosphere, with a combination of café and bistro type of décor. Definitely looks like a great place to have some wine and share a few moments with someone while enjoying some good eats. The staff was very helpful and positive, and service came quickly to acknowledge me (I hate waiting, just a personal thing). My server was quick to offer any help or translations as needed and any recommendations as well. The bread that came to the table was fresh, soft, and delicious so I was looking forward to what the entrees offered. From the menu on the board and from the server’s descriptions, I decided on getting the Saltimbocca. This entrée of veal topped with cheese and prosciutto was excellent. Taste and portion were spot on. The accompanying pasta was a bit generic in a light tomato sauce… it wasn’t bad but it didn’t stand out either and was lackluster. The same for the salad in that it was nice, crisp, and fresh but pretty bland (good though). However the entrée was the great standout and I was happy with my choice.
Bottom line: Nice café/​bistro type atmosphere to get some wine and eats. Entrée choice and bread I enjoyed here were amazing and delicious but accompanying items were a bit generic. All in all, I enjoyed my visit here though and would try them again in the future. I’m definitely a fan.

Wie immer beste italienische Küche. Was es gibt steht an der großen Tafel. Das sind meist so um die 5 Gerichte. Immer frisch gekocht. Dem Koch kann man auch zuschauen, er steht quasi mitten im Restaurant.

Bewertung, also wenn man jetzt mal Lafer und Co. nicht als Maßstab für 5 Sterne nimmt, dann 5 Sterne. Wenn die Sterneköche 5 Sterne hier bekommen, gut dann sind es eben noch 4. ich lasse für hier mal die Spitzenköche weg.

War schon drei-​/​viermal da Essen. Die Gerichte — es gibt nur eine kleine, aber interessannte italienische Auswahl — werden auf ein Tafel geschrieben. Alles wird frisch Zubereitet und schmeckt sehr gut.

Service — 4-​Sterne
Preis-​/​Leistung — 3-​Sterne
Gehe immer gerne wieder hin! Reserviert, sonst wird es schwierig.

Ich war jetzt bei jedem meiner Erlangen Besuche im Schauburg Café.
Super Küche — kleine dafür frische und sehr geschmackvolle Auswahl netter freundlicher Service und faire Preise.
Wie bereits beschrieben, ein kleines sehr beschauliches Restaurant wo man auf jeden Fall reservieren sollte. Ein Platz auf jeden Fall auch für ein sehr gutes Abendessen!!! (War nur Abends da)
Für mich ein italienisch/​deutsches Restaurant was mich gerne an den Film Bella Marta erinnert.
Klare Empfehlung ohne jegliche Einschränkung.

Bin heute Mittag zum Essen dort gewesen. Nettes Ambiente. Offene Küche.
Es gibt eine kleine überschaubere Speisekarte,
schön per Hand auf eine Kreidetafel geschrieben.
Diese wird dann Außen auch von Tisch zu Tisch getragen. Außen 5 dunkle Holztische mit Bänken ohne Lehne.
Es gibt 2 – 3 Vorspeisen, 4 – 5 Hauptspeisen (Pasta– und gegrillter Fisch) und 1 oder 2 Nachspeisen.
Die Pastagerichte werden frisch zubereitet. Es gibt eine offene Küche, so dass dem Koch über die Schultern geschaut werden kann. Der Koch kam dann auch nach Außen um im Kräutertöpfen ein wenig Salbei und Rosmarin zu zupfen :-)
Geschmacklich gut, eine Pastagericht kostet so 7 — 8 Euro.
Fazit:
Für die Mittagspause absolut empfehlenswert.
