If I could give this company a NEGATIVE number, I would and then would want to multiply it by infinity. Yes, this is HOWBADDHL is. Of 3 dealings wi them(2 from Canada and 1 within Germany to Switzerland). They were only any good once(the first time) and from there… well, let’s just say if you send anything via Canada Post to Germany, they partner with them… do NOT do it– use UPS. So, as I said, the first time, my parcel sent to Germany got there fine, no problem. The second, sent the EXACT same way somehow managed to get into the hands of people who were couldn’t read the letters and numbers to indicate the address because when they wrote(because I did have to contact CP about the package since it wasn’t arriving) the CP rep indicated that the people in Germany claimed it was«undeliverable due to incomplete address». This alone made me suspicious given that I also had to fill out the customs form. Thank goodness the person that assisted me(CP has a liaison person for Germany) was reasonable and able to get them to deliver it. Mind you, once it was finally delivered, almost 3 weeks– I paid for ExpressPost which should have only taken a week, I had my companion send me what the package looked like and the customs form so I could demonstrate to the CP person that it was DHL staff who were trying to pull SOMEthing off, what, I wasn’t sure. And, like GOOD customer service CP does offer, I got a check in the mail for $ 126.00, the amount it cost to send the parcel. Here we are at episode 3 with DHL, conclusion yet to be known as of this writing… So, we are in Dresden and my companion now has to move to Zurich for work and instead of hauling the suitcase with all his things for the year, he/we thought it would be easier/prudent to send it via post. Little did we realize that DHL would YETAGAIN be involved because we thought they did express shipping, something we didn’t ask for in sending his suitcase. So, suitcase not overly heavy, addressed CLEARLY to Zurich, Switzerland is SOMEhow in Spain. «How?», you ask? Again, the literacy ability of the average DHL Staff must be on par of a DEAD cat… because even cats CANREAD symbols. As of today, we had conflicting reports: the first indicating that since it was in Spain, we had to deal with the Spanish Correos post… the second, and thank goodness for her, the main secretary at my companion’s workplace, called(yet again, as she speaks fluent German and though he can speak German, my companion isn’t fluent enough to deal with this on his own) and found out that there is «an investigation, DHL is dealing with the wayward sent suitcase in SPAIN, and that it may still take«several weeks» until it gets sorted out – the key phrases being«several weeks» and«sorted out». In the meantime, thank goodness he made a bag with a week’s worth of necessary items to wear or else we’d be shopping for underwear among other things… But he will be needing a few things since his work requires he dress for work and has no «weekend clothes»… Last comment: DONOTNOTUSEDHLUNDERANYCIRCUMSTANCES!!!
