Com Viet

2009 machte ich mein Praktikum bei der Berliner Zeitung und war deswegen für etwas längere Zeit als junges Mädchen in der großen, großen Stadt. In meiner Mittagspause schleppte mich ein anderer Praktikant regelmäßig in diesen kleinen Imbiss und ich ließ für die Sommerrollen jedes Mal meine sorgfältig geschmierten Brote links liegen.
Allein für diese wundervollen Rollen komme ich jedes Mal, wenn ich in Berlin bin, wieder. Sie sind schön frisch, mit einem sehr feinen, lockeren Tofu und werden mit einer genialen Soße serviert. Sie haben also so ziemlich alles, um einen glücklich zu machen. Selten komme ich in der Karte viel weiter, ich brauche nicht mehr und esse meine 3 – 4 Rollen für 3 – 4 Euro um den Laden glücklich zu verlassen. Im Sommer gab es dazu noch einen Manngolassi, jetzt im Winter wurde eine Rolle gegen eine köstliche Phở mit Tofu eingetauscht, die sich mit 3,50 Euro sehen lassen kann.
Ich habe mittlerweile viele vietnamesische Imbisse in der Umgebung des Alexanderplatzes gesehen, die Karten waren teurer und ich kann über ihr Essen wohl nichts sagen, weil ich immer wieder komme und mich freue.
Für das Preisleistung-​Verhältnis erwarte ich nicht mehr, als der Laden zu bieten hat. Liebend gerne lese ich die verschiedensten Zettel unter den Glasplatten des Tisches und bewundere die Sammlung an Passbildern, die es wohl über die Jahre hierhin geschafft hat. Immer wenn ich da war, war der Laden gut besucht und sicher ist es auch keine Absicht, ein Ort zum langen Verweilen zu sein. Manchmal werden die verschiedensten Menschen an einen Tisch gepackt, um allen einen Sitzplatz zu bieten. Bitte weiter so, wenn dafür Essen und Preise so bleiben.

Ok, that’s pretty cheap, but not super tasty.
As I am vegetarian, I really think their menu is a mess, you find in their vegetarian section shrimps and duck… Not sure they understood what a vegetarian is… After you have some meals here and there, so it’s a little bit anoying to search.
The food was correct but I prefer paying 1 or 2 € more and having something really tastier.

What the hell… A vietnamese restaurant that doesn’t have hoisin sauce. Extremely slow service is an understatement. It’s not even phở or fish soup. The most unauthentic or fake vietnamese food you can get. Terrible. You’re not a smart person if you read this review and still come here. I can assure you all of the positive reviewers never had real vietnamese food and are naïve in Asian cuisine.
All of the positive reviews look very fake to me. Judge it yourself. But save your money.

Quaint and absolutely tasty! I had the crispy duck noodles and it was delicious and only € 7! The service is amazing. Very kind people!
They do only take cash but they were so trusting to let me run to an ATM to get cash and come back.

Excellent quality, quantity and price for the food! My husband and I came here for lunch and was quickly seated. I had the crispy duck lunch special (6 €) and my husband had the beef phở (4 €). The Vietnamese woman who took our order was very polite and patiently indulged our questions even though she had very limited English. Our food came out quickly and tasted amazing to the last bite! 5 stars all around. Would definitely go back.

Got recommended to go to Com Viet because they have «the best soup I’ve ever tried», so, on the first night in Berlin we went here to try it out and boy, they did not disappoint.
It is a small place and from what I gather it is usually crowded (it was both of the times we were there). But we managed to get a small table for two. The interior consists of a lot of bambu, old paintings etc but not in a cheesy way, it fits the style of the place.
We ordered two different soups and some spring rolls and the the young waiter was friendly and attentive. Upon receiving the spring rolls we were amazed, especially with the fresh spring rolls in rice paper, absolutely delicious if you’re into that. I might have an affection for it since I’ve eaten this a lot in the past in the african cuisine with fish sauce, this time it was with some sort of vinegar, still good.
After that we got one rice noodle soup with tofu and one glass noodle soup with surimi (I think) which were very tasty and the heat was well needed on this snowy evening in Berlin. I would say they were spicy enough, but since I am a fan of heat I did add some extra gunpowder to it. ;)
And the price? I would say very cheap without affecting the quality of the food. The spring rolls where 1EUR each so I recommend starting with some of the fresh ones in rice paper (the fried where also good, but I myself am not that much into fried foods).
There are a couple of things keeping this from being a five star review. We actually went here on another night with a couple of friends where we had to wait outside for about ten minutes to get a table, I don’t mind that, as I said it is a popular place. But later during serving they forgot two of our dishes, one of which was a main course, which meant one of us had to sit and wait.
A big no-​no in restaurants I think, especially with such a long delay as this. On top of that it was a bit hard to get their attention this evening. So I can understand some of the negative reviews here, I guess it depends on the day and if you’re a larger group (more than two ;)). That evening totaled us four about 20EUR with beverages, which again is quite cheap.
Also remember, cash only!

Great food. Cheap and fast. Although the waitress is not particularly friendly. Doesn’t cost to smile.

Mitten zwischen Hackescher Markt und Alex gelegen, recht unauffällig von außen und sehr klein von innen. Die Einrichtung orientiert sich am vietnamesischen Kitsch aus Bambustischen und –hockern und ist schon recht abgenutzt. Die Küche ist offen.

Sry. Ich kann die Bewertungen nicht nachvollziehen. Es ist zwar sehr günstig, jedoch schmeckt die Phở Bo («Nationalgericht Vietnams») sehr sehr bescheiden.
Insbesondere die Brühe hat den Namen nicht verdient!

Sau leckeres Essen. Besonders die frischen Frühlingsrollen schmecken sehr lecker! Es ist immer recht voll und man muss lange anstehen. Außerdem gibt es leider nur sehr wenig Platz innen. Dieser Imbiss lohnt sich aber richtig!

Schräge Einrichtung, leckeres Essen und supergünstig. Zu empfehlen sind insbesondere die Suppen und die Frühlingsrollen. Für 3 € gibt es eine riesige, dampfende Suppe mit vielen guten Zutaten, die zuverlässig satt macht.
Der Service ist freundlich. Das Ambiente eher (komfortabler) Imbiss als Restaurant. Für einen schnellen Lunch eine Super-​Adresse in der Nähe des Alexanderplatzes.

Klein und etwas unscheinbar. Das Essen schmeckt. Habe dort meine erste frische Frühlingsrolle gegessen und war begeistert. Meine Begleitung hatte Entekross mit Curry und fand es sehr gut. Das Hähnchen war auch gut. Wenn man also hungrig am Alex rum läuft, sollte man hier hin.

Große Auswahl an sehr preiswerten und großen Suppen. Frische und frittierte Frühlingsrollen zu je 1 €, auch sonst sind die Preise relativ niedrig. Man wird hier immer sehr nett behandelt und die Einrichtung muss man wirklich mal gesehen haben!

Cheap! and Delicious! in a sometimes difficult city to find great food. The noodle soup is tops. I cannot say much for other experiences but I enjoyed the meal. This was probably a good day for the cook.

Rund um den Alex gibts nicht soo viel Auswahl an günstigen Restaurants für den schnellen Hunger, wenns auch noch schmecken soll. In diesen Imbiss verschlägt es mich seit Jahren, wenn mir am Alex der Magen knurrt, und immer probiere ich was anderes.
Gestern hatte ich zum ersten Mal einen der frisch gemixten Obstshakes für je 2 Euro — Ananas Kokos — und ich hätte mich reinlegen können… Himmlisch cremig und fruchtig und yammi.
Dazu gabs Reinbandnudeln mit Zeugs für 5 – 6 Euro. Perfekt abgeschmeckt und restlos aufgefuttert.
Die frischen Frühlingsrollen für je 1 Euro am Nebentisch erinnerten eher an Sommerrollen, sahen sehr gut aus. Auch das plötzliche Verstummen der plappernden Tourigruppe, als sie mit dem Essen begann, brachte mich zu dem Entschluss, diese das nächste Mal auf jeden Fall zu probieren.
Die Einrichtung ist schon sehr originell für den deutschen Geschmack, vor Allem der amerikanische Stahlhelm, der über dem Tresen thront. Das kleine Restaurant besteht quasi aus Bambus, auch Tische und Stühle und Bänke.
Kein 5* Luxusgourmetrestaurant, in dem man vom Boden essen kann… Wer so etwas sucht, müsste woanders hingehen. Auch mit Körpernähe sollte man kein Problem haben, wenns mal voller wird. Gut, dass man im Sommer auch draußen sitzen oder sich das Essen einfach auf irgendeiner Wiese schmecken lassen kann.

Günstiges Essen, sehr lecker, nettes Personal. Für den schnellen Hunger sehr zu empfehlen.
Da es nicht so viele Sitzplätze hat empfiehlt es sich z.B. das Gericht gemütlich auf der Wiese vorm Babylon Kino zu verzehren.

Weltbewegend ist dieser Beitrag wohl nicht zum Thema Suppe, obwohl, Com Viet gibt es seit 10 Jahren in Berlin. Diese DreiEuro-​Suppe ist geneigt einen deutschen Magen bis zur Oberkante restlos sättigend abzufüllen. Dazu wurde für 2 Euro ein Saigoner SABECO-​FLASCHENBIER gereicht.

Das deutsche Reinheitsgebot hat diese Marke wohl weniger intus. Außer Hopfen und Malz ist da wahrscheinlich noch Reis und Mais und sonstwas beinhaltet. Brauerei und Malzwirtschaft lernte die vietnamesische Braukunst vor Urzeiten in der inzwischen untergegangenen DDR. Ein Bissel TGL, ein bissel DIN, ein bissel Schwachalkohol mit Fermentierungen und Braukunst wurde mehr oder weniger bravurös vermischt. Trotzdem, das Bier schmeckt.

freundliche Bedienung, schnelle Küche, die knusprige Spezialität (hähnchen)des Hauses 7d vom Fleisch her etwas mehr durchwachsen als andere Läden. Die Suppen sehr reichhaltig und lecker!

I have eaten here three times in succession and will probably drop by again tonight. A great selection of tasty, fresh vietnamese cuisine at great prices. How they manage to be so good and quick with such a small kitchen does not cease to amaze me.

Not that good. The service is fast but the rice seemed poorly cooked and the meat and sauce could have been better.

ein kleiner gemütlicher Laden mit authentischem Flair! Gehe auch als Vietnamesin gerne hierher. Das Essen ist zwar nicht das außergewöhnliche, aber der Geschmack ist nicht verwestlicht. Vorallem die Fischsauce zu den Frühlingsrollen oder Gerichten mit Frühlingsrollen ist einfach das beste!!! die Fischsuppe ist auch super. Schnell und nahrhaft und besonders günstig!!! komme gerne hierher, wenn ich vietnamesisches Essen vermisse!

Gutes und sehr preiswertes Essen, war bereits mehrmals hier. Die kleinen Hocker sind allerdings nicht unbedingt gemütlich, und im Winter zieht s auf vielen Plätzen.

Very small restaurant with tables turning several times over during our 50 minute visit. Super casual, with very low stools to sit on. Low-​lit, with cool décor on the walls. Very inexpensive– soups for 3 Euro, mains for 5.50−8.00. We each had soup, a main, a half liter beer, and a Mango Juice and the check came to 24. The Crispy Duck with curry sauce was delicious. Lots of locals came in for a very quick meal while we visited– when there wasn’t a table they ordered and then a table would open up and their food would arrive a couple of minutes later. Nice place for a quick meal on the run in Mitte.

Sehr lecker, grosse Portionen für niedrige preise. Die bedienung ist auch in ordnung.

Die Speisekarte lässt einem eine Menge Auswahl. Die Gerichte sind gut und sehr günstig. Allerdings geht es hier alles sehr schnell und dass merkt man manchmal auch beim essen. Guter Durchschnitt und eher etwas für den schnellen Hunger.

War auf Empfehlung hier. Es gibt hier Authentische
vietnamesische Küche so wurde mir gesagt.
Das mit der Küche kann ich bestätigen. Die Gerichte unterscheiden sich
vom Geschmack her vom denen anderer Asiaten. Einiges habe ich probiert, bin
sehr zufrieden. Die Teller sind ausreichend befühlt, bei für diesen Ort
angemessenen Preisen. Leider gibt es auch einen Wehmutstropfen. Es ist eben nur
ein sehr kleines Lokal mit Tendenz zum Imbiss. Sehr unruhig, gerade wenn die
Tür aufsteht, und sehr eng. Das Personal ist freundlich. Essen sehr gut, Ambiente leider
nicht so. Mich stören nicht die Helme und der Bambus, der gehört zur Geschichte
Vietnams dazu. Ich komme wieder zum Essen, aber eben nicht zum Verweilen.

for around 5EUR you get a full warm meal + tea, what I think it is a nice deal.
The mango milk shake is very good, but I suggest the coconut– fresh ananas drink.
It’s a very little restaurant with mostly quick service.
Basicly it is clean, but not perfekt.
Seems to be little trashy style but nevertheless it has a KULT asian image!
Hope the quality keeps in that condition, so Berlin has a one more very nice little place to be.

An absolute horror story of a restaurant experience if I’ve ever had one.
Looked nice from the outside, so I decided to go eat there with a colleague. I ordered some beefs noodles where as my colleague ordered a coconut soup. Seated around a small comfortable table escaping the abysmal weather outside, we were pleasantly surprised by the reasonable prices and cozy interior.
Unfortunately, what we received could barely be called food. In fact, it was literally inedible. My noodles were severely undercooked and were all stuck together in a big sticky lump. My colleague’s soup was filled with white flakes, strange chunks and a piece of hair. My collegue and I could not believe our own eyes as we looked at our plates.
I’m very tolerant and open-​minded when it comes to food, and I usually refrain from being overly critical, but this particular restaurant has gone too far.
I have rarely been so angry and disappointing! I was trying to complain to the staff about the food in German, but it seems that they have no grasp of the language (or at least pretend like they don’t). This is probably the only time in Germany where I have wanted to report a restaurant to the local sanitary agency.
Please stay away from this place!

One of the worst Vietnamese restaurants I’ve ever been to. I should’ve known better, considering how many restaurants located in Mitte serve expensive and unimpressive food.
I stopped by for dinner after class. The school I attended suggested several restaurants in the area — after this visit, we stopped visiting restaurants suggested by the school — so we chose Com Viet since it was a chilly Berlin evening, and we wanted some hot Phở to warm us up.
First off, the restaurant is small and seating is limited. It’s decorated with all sorts of Vietnamese knick-​knacks. Food is cheap, and the service isn’t so bad either.
I ordered Chicken Phở, which was just… eh. I’ve had better back in The States and in Berlin. The basil, lime, and peppers didn’t do much to the taste. Maybe it was because they didn’t give you enough condiments.
For dessert, I decided to try their fried banana egg rolls. I had a feeling these were going to be lame, but I thought why not give it a shot. My feelings were right on: they were lame. The banana in the roll wasn’t ripe enough, and there was more air in the egg roll than banana, so it puffed up the egg roll giving the appearance that there’s a large piece of banana inside. Also, be aware that these are extremely hot when you first bite into them.
Lastly, the waitress /​cashier short changed me, but I know she didn’t do this on purpose because she was practically running the entire front-​end of the shop. If she wasn’t nice and attentive, then this would’ve been a problem, but it was just onerous.

Just plain terrible! There was a hair in my soup which also happened to be suspiciously chunky. Absolute disaster. Worst Asian food ever.

Klein, gemütlich und super asiatische Küche. Immer wenn ich in Berlin bin, dann versuche ich immer dort essen zu gehen. Bedienungen sind meistens freundlich, essen ist sowas von günstig und die Portionen groß. Und das beste: es schmeckt super! Wer asiatisch mag und nicht das europäisch-​asiatische Essen will da hin!

Maybe choosed the wrong dish today (lunch menu A3). Have to put tons of chili, soja sauce etc. in it to make it tasty.
Besides the dish I really like the style of the interior. Also the way they serve the food really reminds me of the small foods shops in Asia (see pics)
. It’s definitely the cheapest Asia takeaway around Alexanderplatz. Lunch menu from 3 – 6 EUR (one drink included).
I will give Con Viet a second chance in the next days.

Un vietnamita de sopas enormes y precios chiquitos.

I was few times at Com Viet and i must say that each time the food was not very good. The vegetables are not very fresh, and the tofu seems old, or fried too long before they serve it.
I had some dishes with Tofu and vegetables/​rice (mediocre), a noodle salat with Tofu (pretty bad) and the Rollen (which are maybe a bit better).
Even if this place is close to my office and is cheap, i dont think that ill go there again.

Das Com Viet ist einfach toll. Das fängt bei der etwas überladenen Dekoration an bis hin zu den netten Kellnern und den günstigen Preisen.
Für Mitte sind die Preise hier wirklich eine Ausnahme, frische Frühlingsrollen gibt es schon für einen Euro und auch die Gerichte fangen bei 4 Euro an.
Alles wird frisch zubereitet und schmeckt wirklich unglaublich lecker. Auch die Getränke sind hier nicht teuer und es gibt eine riesige Auswahl an unterschiedlichen Säften, zum Teil auch frisch gepresst.
Was man auch unbedingt mal ausprobieren muss, wenn man mal dort vorbeikommen sollte, ist das Mixgetränk Coly.
Eine Mischung aus Cola, Litschi-​Saft und Plaumen-​Wein. Hört sich irgendwie gruselig an, schmeckt aber richtig gut.
Nach dem Essen kann man auf der Bierbank davor noch eine Zigarette genießen und sich dabei schon wieder auf den nächsten besuch bei Com Viet freuen.

Ausgesprochen freundlicher Imbiss in einer Gegend, wo es sonst nur noch Schicki-​Micki-​Food gibt.
Aber mir können die Monsieur Vuongs dieser Welt gestohlen bleiben — das ist doch alles überschätzt und überteuert.
Im ComViet gibt es ausgezeichnete frische Frühlingsrollen für einen Euro und alles Andere ist auch sehr lecker und günstig.
Der Laden ist klein, aber gemütlich und interessant dekoriert.
Auf Bambus-​Mobiliar schmeckt mir der Mango-​Saft immer noch am Besten.

Habt Ihr Lust, Vietnamesisch günstig — ich meine, sehr günstig, zu essen?
In der Münzstraße ist ein Imbiss Namens Com Viet, gleich neben einem alten Berliner Bräuerei. Hier kann man für 5 € satt und gut essen. Die vietnamesische Reisnudelsuppe kostet sogar nur 4 €.
Die haben bis ziemlich spät Abends offen (23 Uhr). Deshalb bin ich mit Freunden sehr oft hier. Unser Ritual: die frische Sommerrollen zur Vorspeise bestellen. Lieblingsmenü: Reisnudeln mit Rindfleisch, Salate und Erdnuss. Und im Anschluss Ingewertee oder frischen Karotten-​Orangensaft. Nett ist es!

The fresh springrolls are lovely — five stars. They cost 1 euro each and are vegetarian.
The soups and rice dishes are a bit mediocre, but spiced up with the chili and pepper on the table they’re an okay lunch.

Wirklich ein sehr toller Laden, zwischen den ganzen schicken Bio-​Snack– und «Touri”-Läden.
Die Atmosphäre ist irgendwie was besonderes, weil total klein und sehr hektischer Betrieb. So wie ich es von manchen guten asiatischen Läden kenne.
Und nein, es ist kein Feinschmeckerrestaurant, aber das ist auch nicht der Maßstab, den man von Aussen schon sieht. Passt natürlich nicht zu den anderen Läden in den Straßen.
Diese «Salat”-Frühlingsrollen sind echt unfassbar lecker.
