Service was attentive; food was OK; but… previous reviews here or on other review sites warned us of a couple of potential issues. Serving sizes were modest but prices were not — particularly by Asian food prices in the US. Also, beware of hidden costs. We had a 2 Euro charge on our bill which we were told was a surcharge for a sizzling platter. Why not just add that cost into the price of that entrée??? Tsing Tao beers were 6 Euro plus. The place had a bit of a hustle feel. Despite this, we enjoyed the Saigon spring rolls — both shrimp and duck. We are really spoiled with great Nime Chow at home so we have pretty high standards for these rolls. We also enjoyed Pepper Shrimp on Sizzling Plate(even with the surcharge) and Stir Fried Noodles with Vegetables(mostly broccoli and not a lot of either noodles or vegetables but tasty. So our final recommendation is go with reasonable expectations and you can have a decent Asian(fusion That/Chinese) meal. Go with high expectations and you will surely be disappointed.

I live in the United States where there are many delicious Asian restaurants. Lotus De Siam just wasn’t up to par! As a family with many vegetarians, we were expecting great tofu dishes, but the tofu and vegetables weren’t the best. I ordered the phat thai with tofu and vegetable, and I didn’t get either; they said they didn’t serve phat thai with tofu AFTER we ordered and the only vegetable were limp pieces of lettuce. Then, the prices were outrageous! A simple mango and stick rice was 15 euros. I would understand the prices if the food was good, but it just wasn’t!

This place was great! We ordered a wide variety of food and it was all flavorful and well cooked. The bad review on here is(from my experience) inaccurate. Perhaps they have made some changes. The portions were exactly as expected and matched the photos of the food in the menu. Appetizers came with four piece and entrees filled a plate. If you are looking to get a Chinese, Vietnamese or Thai fix(yes they serve all three) stop on in.

The prices on the menu were very deceiving. What seemed like a reasonable option a few blocks from the Champs-Élysées, turned into a dinner of very small, overpriced plates of food which left us still hungry after ordering additional plates of fried rice, the cheapest thing on the menu. As an indication of exorbitant prices for simple food, a bowl of wonton soup was 8 Euros! We even asked if this was for a large bowl that would serve the table, as is often the case in the U.S. The food was fine, nothing great, nothing bad. But the portions were miniscule! So what seemed like a good deal(ie, fried noodles at 7 Euros) turned out to be a disaster, because we literally had to order more plates(1 plate in the U.S. would be 2 or 3 plates in this restaurant!) In addition, the service was plain old fine. Nothing to write home about, but we did notice that the group next to us had to ask for several things over and over again. Definitely not worth going to while in Paris. Would never go back.
