Small, relatively inexpensive, bare-bones tourist hotel in an almost unbearably tourist-dense part of Paris. Desk staff were imaginative, courteous, helpful, and polylingual; room was clean and, apart from one dud light fixture, functional. The free WiFi worked fine, and fees for local landline calls were far cheaper than a Parisian friend had led me to expect. Small loaves on offer in the lounge in the morning were first rate examples of the baker’s art. No frills, though; this isn’t much more than a place to stash your bag and to change your socks between bouts of smoking Marlboro reds and drinking café noirs on the sidewalk at Les Éditeurs. Expect New York City-sized rooms, maybe a bit tighter, even. The location’s good. Easy walking distance to both the Metro and the RER B with a wheeled bag. Assloads of restaurants and bars in the immediate vicinity, too, but be warned that some will be too touristy for words. And it can’t be more than 500m from the Seine, if you’re in the mood to stare at some truly world-class sewage. Overall, a reasonable choice if you want/need to be in this particular neighborhood, and if you’re not visiting Paris to eat room service pizzas and watch television.

I enjoyed this hotel. I got a 3-nights-$ 100USD deal, so it was well worth the price I paid for its location. It’s right off the metro, and there are lots of bars and restaurants nearby. Less than 10 min. walk to Notre Dame Cathedral. They kept my baggage after check-out. The staff were relatively friendly, all spoke impeccable english. The public areas are rustic and cute. However: My room was outdated and in a state of disrepair, and didn’t resemble the website pictures at all. The hotel internet did not work anywhere in the hotel, even the lobby. The TV also did not work. The elevator was out for one of my three days. So, it was worth it for me, but word to the wise: you get what you pay for. I’d stay here again if I got the same deal.
