Dying to find a bathroom so stopped in here. Got brow-beaten to buy breakfast and server forced two Pettit dejeuners on us. Then he short-changed us. Steer clear at all costs.

We stumbled upon L’Escurial as we were in the Marais area and had gotten hungry. We ordered the special of the day which was a grilled chicken brochette with salad and fries. You had the option of having the main entrée with either a salad or dessert(chocolate mousse). We learned here that in Europe(or France anyway), the appetizer is actually called the entrée, whereas the«plat» is the North American version of the main course. Woops. I know enough French to get by when it comes to ordering at restaurants but there was some confusion conversing with the waiter who only spoke French. A kind mother and daughter duo sitting beside us helped us translate. We ordered our main«plat» with the salad«entrée». The food arrived fairly quickly. The salad was simple and consisted of greens with several slices of tomato topped with diced red onion and a light vinagrette dressing. Very simple, but delicious and refreshing. The chicken brochette was absolutely delicious. We were blown away with how tender the grilled chicken was. The accompanying dipping sauce was sort of like a smokey barbeque sauce, and was fabulous with the chicken and fries. I practically inhaled my plate. Despite negative reviews on Unilocal,we enjoyed one of our favorite meals in Paris here. Our server wasn’t personable by any means but was efficient and did his job well enough. Good place to stop here for a quick lunch.

Don’t go here. We had the worse and most rude server ever. And we were overcharged for one beer and a bottle of water. I wanted to order wine, but refused to patronize the restaurant any further. The only reason I stayed was because my bf wanted to finish his beer. The waiter didn’t greet us, he took our order, and never came back to check on us. If I were alone, I would have left immediately based on the greeting. The service was worse and we were overcharged.

I’m from NYC and I met the rudest waiter at this café. Terrible coffee and would not replace it. Paid and left two full cups of gross coffee.

Well, I’ll start off by saying… the salad that my mother and I shared was excellent although overpriced. Now, I am aware that as American tourists, my mother and I probably don’t have stellar French skills(I studied Spanish in school), but we were definately not prepared to be served by the waiter there, who seemed to be the very embodiment if the«rude French» stereotype. Upon sitting down, the said waiter walked up to us and started staring at us. We soon figured that he intended to take our order and ordered(in bad French) a large salad. Then, without a word he just walked away. Our salad came and my mother realized that she didn’t have any cutlery and took some from the empty table beside us. We thoroughly enjoyed our salad as we watched said waiter walk around, being perfectly polite to all of the French customers. When the waiter walked around and saw that there was no cutlery on the table next to us, he made a large point in bringing a new set. My mom said sorry(in French), yet he simply ignored her and walked away. We got the bill a few minutes later and while using the credit card machine my poor mother tried to compliment the food(in French), yet he ignored her and looked in the other direction. Okay then.

Don’t go here — food ok, but pricey, and service was rude! N’y aller pas !! On a mangé assez bien, mais les prix sont élevés et le service épouvantable, impoli. I want to love everyone and everyplace, but there are so many better options and why waste $$ and get treated poorly? My friend pulled out her coins, and the waiter swooped in and grabbed the coins he wanted, then refused to change her small change for larger coins.

Service was good, though quite gruff. Quiche was too salty and cold inside, though eggs were fluffy. Crust was burned to a crisp. Cleary tried to warm too quickly from below and instead burned it

They make a decent croque madame, but this place is really best for reading and people watching.

Passez vite votre chemin!

Popped into this restaurant after shopping in Le Marais. My mother ordered the Croque Madame and I had the Salade norvégienne. Everything was fresh and yummy, but this is not a high quality restaurant. It’s more of a fast food French joint as the menu is quite limited. I recommend this place if you want a quick bite to eat, with nothing fancy on top!

Maybe it was the amazing experience at Café Ruc, but this was highly disappointing. We stopped here after a day in Le Marais. The bilingual menu should have been a reg flag. I ordered a duck confit, which was translated as «preserved duck». It had very little flavor, so perhaps only its edibility was preserved. The French onion soup could have been the star appetizer at any TGI Fridays. Service was fine, but we had to ask twice for bread and water. Considering we were not prisoners of the restaurant, this didn’t help. Lots of better options in the area.
