We wanted to get away from the crowds on Rue du Seine for a quiet, affordable casual meal and stumbled upon L’Auberge Saint-Germain. We enjoyed a couple of different wines(priced very well for Happy Hour) and ordered the Preserved Lemon and Chicken and Green Olive Tagine with COuscous and the Entrée/Plat special of onion soup and roasted chicken. The Tagine was fantastic and we will try to go back to try the other Moroccan dishes. The roast chicken was also delicious, with wonderful flavor and a crisply roasted skin. So tasty. I did not find the onion soup to my liking. The broth was heavier and spicier than I was expecting, but everything else was really great and we quite enjoyed the house puppies and the patient waiter and the really great food and reasonable price. I’m a person who always cuts away the chicken skin and leaves it on the plate but this was like eating candy and I was gnawing on the chicken bones. Really a good place.
