SHADY. A few months have passed since I stayed here, but I remember every unpleasant detail of my stay. The hotel manager had an annoying smirk on his face whenever he came up with something to charge us more for. We originally booked for two people, but when he saw that there were three of us, he immediately jumped on the extra bed fee. He wasted 20 minutes of our tired afternoon trying to explain why he was charging us all these random fees when we had seen a different price online. At last, we just paid, and he gave us the«key» to our room. The elevator was tiny and slow. Only one of us could go on it with one piece of luggage at any time, because that’s literally all the elevator can hold. Otherwise, the winding staircase is creaky and unstable. We got to our room on the second floor, and the key didn’t even work. The manager had to call the housekeeping lady(literally just one lady) to open it for us, and when we stepped inside, we immediately realized again how shady the hotel is. There was one double bed and a twin roll-out bed for the three of us to share. The sheets were stained. The refrigerator had food remnants. The bathroom was messy. The chair was broken. The desk was broken. The room was just horrible. Immediately, we went back downstairs and asked for a different room, having provided the guy with a list of things wrong with the original room. We moved down to the first floor corner room, which was considerably better. Still, we were miserable. There was one outlet for the three of us to charge our cell phones, laptop, and camera batteries. At least there, the sheets were cleaner and the refrigerator was empty. Still, DINGY stayed on my mind the entire time we stayed at that hotel. The area isn’t that great, either. One night, we looked out our window and saw a guy just staring right into our room. He was literally just standing still across the street and gazing through our curtains. WTF?! It’s great that the hotel is a ten-minute walk from the Eiffel Tower, but nothing else about this hotel is worth what we paid for, which was way too much(300+ euros for two nights). Never coming back here.

Boutique hotels are a dime a dozen in Paris. Here’s what I thought about this one: PROS: 1) LOCATION: 2 blocks from the Metro(Line 6 Dupleix Station); 10 minute walking distance to the Eiffel Tower! 2) FREEWI-FI! 3) Friendly staff(who helped us call restaurants to make reservations on multiple occastions) & good housekeeping. CONS: 1) The«double bed» was 2 twin beds pushed together! HA! 2) No conditioner, and I forgot to bring my own. Cry* TIPS: 1) View of the Eiffel Tower from Room 615! 2) If you don’t want to spend 8 € on the hotel’s continental breakfast, there is a very affordable boulangerie/patisserie right across the street(I recommend the pain au chocolat!). The 24-hour epicerie next door sells a variety of snacks and cheap booze. Overall: A-OK! The hotel provided what we needed for a short stay in Paris(clean room, safe neighborhood, close to the Metro), but with SO many other options, I’ll try something else next time!
