This place was really good– excellently seasoned meat! The side dishes also compliment well and overall a delicious experience! We also tried the beer the bartender recommended and were not disappointed. The people genuinely like what they do and are great hosts — a must visit if you really like good meats!

We went on the recommendation of the Staff at Hotel Regina. The service was very slow and the food was way below what we expected for the price. We bought the most expensive meat on the menu, black angus for two, tough as nails and not cooked as requested. We never saw our waiter after he delivered the food. Desert was included in the price but we never received the desert, waiter acted like he did not care.

God, I wish this place hadn’t played a mistake right in my face, its a Great roasts restaurant, we had both the Sirloin for 2 and the Veal Knuckle. Both the main dishes and the side dishes were awesome. I had chosen this restaurant to celebrate two friends of mine getting engaged, and it was all going perfectly except: The restaurant seems to pride themselves on their wine, which as a wine collector and investor I greatly appreciate. With the meats we were eating I orderer the La Dame De One Heures Saint-Emillion Grand Cru !!2010!!. This is 96 Euro bottle of wine, the cost for food for two people. The waiter served the wine, which was fine, but as we were in the corner didn’t present the bottle, after we had drank our first glasses, I picked up the wine to decide if we were going to order it again, and noticed the bottle was the 2012. Having worked in restaurants I know we all make mistakes, and called the waiter over to give him a chance to correct his. He told us that it wasn’t a mistake, that they were out of the 10, and had moved on to the 12, and it would be the same price. When pushed further he said why would the price be different!!! This from a restaurant with the same De-pape on the menu from two different years, one at 45 Euro and one at 135 Euro… I can not believe a restaurant that is advertising itself as a Gourmand restaurant with a focus on Wine would pull this crap. I did not want to cause a scene or argue about money as my friends were already uncomfortable with me treating, but no replacing the bottle, or even apologizing blows me away. Note: The argument was held in French with someone who is a native speaker on our side, this was not a language misunderstanding.

We got introduced to this little gem via the concierge at the Westin Vendome. We were seated facing the kitchen, on the same side of the table, how we always do it. Concise menu w 3 options for dinner, all of which include app, meat entrée, sides, and dessert(ranging from 32 – 45 euro pp). After settling in and loosening up to the atmosphere, we crushed the chicken and steak special which were both fabulous. Our app was carrot soup, fried polenta, and some sort of a claw which the Mrs loved. For dessert we had apple pie and chocolate tart. The tart was ridiculous! One of the highlights of our visit was our charming waiter, Slyvarn. He was very funny and inviting, and made us feel right at home. Highly recommend! A wonderful dining experience.

Great area near St. Honore and Place Vendome. On Saturday night it reminded me a little of the Meatpacking district in NYC. Their were lots of young people, women in heels walking on cobblestones… Great restaurant run by the offspring of Michel Rastang, the 2* Michelin man. The menu is prix fixe, ranges from 32 €-46 € per person. Not too bad for lots of good meat. We had the rib eye and the chicken for two. Both were cooked perfectly. The chefs appetizers were delicious and I especially liked the parsnip soup. The house wines were reasonably priced and a good value. We had a great waiter who spent some time in the US. Definitely make a reservation as it gets pretty jammed around 9pm.

We learned about Café des Abattoirs from a mention in the Sunday NY Times a few months ago. When we phoned for a reservation today we learned they were full. We took a chance anyway and walked over from our hotel and were rewarded with a seat at the bar, followed by an incredible meal. Great food, excellent service, and wonderful ambiance made our dining experience over the top. Easily one of our favorite restaurants in Paris.

It was a great experience for us, dinning at Café des Abattoirs! Our waiter was funny, knew the food, and his recommendations for the kids were great! The set menus with options for the main course, sides and desserts are great and the ‘surprise’ starters were a delight — especially the melon, peach cold soup something, which was like a sorbet, and I could have had it again for dessert! The Angus Beef steak and the Beef Skirt were awesome! They even gave us a private dinning room upstairs(7 of us) which made the whole evening seem like a great night out with family and friends! A must– visit in Paris, I’d say :)
