This place was excellent. The atmosphere intimate with authentic old world accents. A beautiful wine cave dining area downstairs. The food is delicious and plated beautifully. Classic dishes with a modern flare. I had the white asperagus starter with a butter cream sauce and a mackeral entré. I normally wouldn’t order mackeral but something about the place told me that I could order anything and it would be delicious. I was right. The desert was quirky and memorable a warm dark chocolate pudding with whip cream and popcorn. Take a date or go for a classy lunch.

We first went here a couple of years ago when the restaurant was recommended to us by the hotel we were staying at. I don’t remember exactly what we had, but remember thinking the food was excellent and reasonably priced. So when we were recently in Paris again, we decided to pay another visit and were not disappointed. The set lunch menu is really good value. I had the scallop for starter, followed by the beautifully presented, succulent partridge. The wine selection was good and reasonably priced. English versions of the menus were available and the staff spoke English and were extremely friendly. I couldn’t fault the service. All in all, I would definitely recommend eating here next time you are in Paris!

I agonized over finding a nice restaurant for my American guests who had never before been to Paris. After hours of reading reviews I settled on Bissac and am so glad I did! They have an English menu, and English-speaking staff which was a huge bonus for my guests. Our waiter was Malik, and he went above and beyond. I was worried about the Parisian waiter stereotype(i.e. rude) for my guests who were not completely sold on Paris yet but he really gave 110%. He spoke English, joked and made small talk with them, and gave us a tour of the building/wine cellars at the end. I attribute 80% of the good time we had to Malik alone. The other 20% was the food! I eat almost exclusively vegetarian and the restaurant was very accommodating, not just by offering vegetarian options(rare in itself) but they allowed me to get bigger portions of entrees(what Americans refer to as appetizers) to use as my main meal, which really helped. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. We had a great time, and I attribute it 100% to Malik and the wonderful service and chefs at Bissac. My guests were so impressed they returned later in the week with some friends to show them the«gem» they found. I would also return given the opportunity. Also a plus: online reservation system!

The starters here are great and the grilled vegetables that came with the entrée were perfect. The entrée was good-above average(I had lamb). I would order the lamb medium, if doing it over. I had the cheese course instead of desert with a soft cow’s cheese, goat cheese and a blue cheese. The meal was great with the wine– a Pinot noir. All in all, a great meal for about $ 100 for two(not including a full bottle of wine). The wine pairing suggested was 2011 Domaine Bernard Delagrange Auxey-Duresses, and was excellent.
