What a lovely find! We came here on the kindness and recommendation of Messier Phillipe from Cave Bossetti. This place has been open for 100 years and word on the street is they’ve got a star from the Michelin guys, which can sometimes help and sometimes harm a restaurant Roman(sommelier) took care of us at the highest possible level attainable to the human experience. 12 courses, 5 wines and one unforgettable meal later, we fell in love. Only knock is the chairs are SO uncomfortable. And for a 3 hour meal it matters quite a bit. It’s so funny though because the BUTTER alone made up for all the discomfort! WOW! Sweetbread changed our life.

ATROCITY. the ONLY reason this place is not getting 1 star is because the service was good and the plates are nice, but the food is NOT worthy of its one michelin star. I am not sure if all the people giving this place good reviews are tourists, but I can only assume they are because this place is a tourist trap. Legit it is just a typical french brasserie with good service. The quality of the food here is the same as any random brasserie you can eat at in paris for 1⁄3rd of the price. i have NOOO idea how they got a michelin star. I came here for lunch and got the 40 euro set course. BIGGESTWASTEOFMONEY ever. –start you off with cheese bread. Ok i have to admit these little cheese breads were fantasticccc. Similar to cheese bread you get from brazilian steakhouses in toronto. just superb. Also side note the butter they give you with the bread is like cream cheese. spreads so smooth and its so creamy. –starter: I had an asparagus soup. What they don’t tell you is that it comes with some goat cheese cream. WHY on earth would you not note that in the menu description. goat cheese is a strong cheese and i hate it, so the whole soup was ruined. didn’t finish this and I ALWAYS finish my food. –main: vol au vent with fish. This is where it gets really interesting. I have only had vol au vent one other time in my life. I went to a fast food joint in brussels and tried it for the first time. I am now having it for the second time at a michelin star restaurant and it is legit NO better. Also, I understood fish from the menu, but maybe it meant seafood?(not sure because my french is crap). Either way there was a bit of fish on the side of the pastry and inside the pastry was a mix of small clams, some other werid seafood(I didnt’ know what it was but it looked like a white tube– like a babyyyy bone marrow but soft, anyways it was nasty and I didn’t eat it), then there was two circular pieces of what I assume was an egg like pudding(similar texture to crème brûlée or panna cotta). Point is, I did not know what I was getting and I hated it and legit picked out all the stuff in the pastry and then attempted to eat the pastry. The pastry itself was NOTHING fantastic, just so disappointing. Then the sauce that came with the dish again was nothing great and slightly on the salty side. Didn’t finish this either. –dessert: ok the last chance for redemption. I got a plate with 3 tarts — chocolate, orange, apple. First of all, the dessert came in on a white plain plate while the rest of the meal came in on these fancy floral benoit plates. Presentation was sh** because it was legit just 3 tarts on the plate. You couldn’t have drizzled some sort of sauce or syrup?! i must stress here that I LOVE tarts and have had mind blowing ones in Paris. I can tell these tarts are probably frozen or like minimum one day old. Definitely not made in house the morning of. For the tarte tatin, mine was lukeeee warm and my BF’s was actually slightly frozen. guess they forgot to pop it in the microwave before they served his. COOL. again, didn’t finish this plate. but seriously, how can they serve desserts that are not freshly made?! Please DONOT come here and waste your time and money. The food is horrible. If you want standard french food just go to your neighbourhood brasserie. Do not listen to all the fools that think this is good french food. I came with someone who was born and raised in france, and he agrees that this place does not deserve its michelin star.

Dining at Benoit was stunning! Before I walked in the restaurant, a waiter asked if I wanted my picture taken in front of the restaurant. Upon entering the restaurant, I was immediately greeted by the friendly and hospitable manager and waitstaff. Benoit is genuine bistro cooking at its best. The restaurant is located near the Hôtel de Ville. Another Alain Ducasse smash-hit which features attention to the smallest detail such as beautiful monogrammed china, the proper flatware for your meal, an extensive wine list, fabulous fresh French butter and cheeses, delicious cheese puffs, Madeleines still warm from the oven, and a «treat bag» of delicious goodies as a little token gift. The aroma of escargot with garlic butter and herbs filled the air. Knife-cut beef tartare carefully prepared table side. The creamy crawfish soup and Scottish salmon with fresh seasonal vegetables and béarnaise were perfectly prepared. One of the dessert show-stoppers was the cream-filled profiteroles which you dip in a warm chocolate fondue and is accompanied by ice cream and a delicious praline topping. There is a reason this restaurant earned a Michelin star. Enjoy the experience!

What a treat to experience this true gem of paris. I visited this restaurant on my honeymoon trip and was surely not disappointed. The seating was just a bit cramped but that is to be expected. The waitress was definitely on top of her game and tried to up sell us on some items, clever girl but we didn’t bite. The escargot was good but not my favorite. I have to say the best part of going to Benoit is probably the tea and dessert. I was obsessed with the individually packaged sugar cubes and the signature little goodie bag of treats that thy send you home with. I love the presentation of giving you fresh warm Madeline’s right out of the mold but sadly my husband said his favorite is still Starbucks. All and all a service, atmosphere, dining experience every tourist should experience but I don’t know if it would be my ultimate meal.

7 years is too far from my last visit, I was young and tender, tender as the calf cheek at Benoit melting in young girl’s mouth and softly touching her tongue. Well, I realise that I turned into beef fillet now but still cannot forget this wonderful restaurant. Old fashioned French food, difficult to come by nowadays among the creative cuisine chefs. Besides the amazing wine list, it always make a perfect night with my beloved one.

Genuinely torn about how to rate Benoit, or if I even should at all… but I guess I should. We came here for my girlfriend’s birthday dinner, in search of something authentically Parisian and memorable. I read reviews and made our reservation, ready to walk in with an open mind, and get the Parisian dining experience. We ordered champagne and wine and cheese and appetizers and wonderful entrees. The restaurant was beautiful. The food was outstanding. The servers themselves were great… perhaps with a bit of a snooty, French attitude, but very professional. There were some problems, though. First, you walk into a beautiful restaurant and we were seated in the ‘American’ section at the back in a very small room. We didn’t ask for that and we spoke French(maybe not so well) when we walked in… Maybe logistically, it makes sense to group all the Yankees into the same section, but it made it feel cheap and more like going to Epcot Center than a legit Parisian Bistro. It was uncomfortably hot in that back room too(it was Fall when we went btw)… and we were squeezed in like sardines, while we could look out into the rest of the restaurant full of more comfortable looking sections that weren’t packed. I’m aware that the French dining experience it more lengthy than an American dinner, but it was 2 ½ hours from the time we were sat until the time we were served our entrees. There was a lot of time spent, not eating… just waiting for the next course. We waited about an hour between finishing our appetizers and the entrees being served. They did apologize for the delay, but when I spend well over 3 hours in a restaurant chair, in a small room in the back, I start to get antsy. We were ready to head home and call it a night before the entrees had even arrived. Of course the entrees finally did arrive and then the desserts and everything was wonderfully prepared. I just wasn’t ready to invest almost 4 hours into the meal. I feel like we received a lesser experience because we weren’t locals, but I can’t deny the fact that the food was amazing and besides the slowness of the service/kitchen, the servers were very good. When it comes down to it, this wasn’t our favorite meal of our Paris trip, but it was the most expensive meal by far… twice as expensive as a meal we had the next night that we enjoyed much more.

Benoit is a lovely restaurant nestled into a very touristy area. Its self consciously styled in a very traditional French way. Love the tiny interlocking rooms which give it a great atmosphere. Very intimate, and romantic. Service, especially the maitre’d, was outstanding. Unfortunately the food was really quite average, neither the menu choices(its deliberately artisanal, I think) or the delivery. We both had fish, so missed out on the famous Beef Wellington. They saved it with the cheese board, but really who can mess up a cheese board in France. For nearly $ 300 for two(inc a bottle of wine), it really wasn’t value for money, especially as it was the type of meal we could’ve had at a real French bistro for a fraction. My heart always sinks if I walk into a restaurant and none of the patrons are French, especially if then all of the patrons are also American and many on expense accounts. It felt as if we all got sent there by our hotel concierges. so a lovely setting, but I wouldn’t go there expecting to see a Michelin star in action.

Dining atmosphere isn’t the best(due to crowdiness and noise) and is rather casual. The food is in smaller proportion but is perfect for us. The special lunch menu at 39 euro though is a treat. Love their cheese bread that came with the meal.

This was the second Michelin one-star restaurant that I went to while dining in Paris, and it was quite a different experience from the first(see«Qui Plume la Lune»). We dined on a Sunday evening via a reservation. Benoit is interesting in that it has multiple little tiny rooms so you never have to shout to hear the person across from you. We sat in a backroom on the first floor tucked away near a bunch of cabinets holding guests’ coats and jackets. The room seated 16 people, although there were at least two other rooms for tables. Benoit knows their food well, and we ordered from the du jour a la carte menu. In addition to our a la carte decisions, they gave us these bread cheese puffs(gougeres or pao de queijos if you go for churrascarias) as starters and had Madeleines and chocolate-hazelnut truffles prior to dessert as part of the dining experience(without extra charge). I have to say that I wasn’t quite as impressed with the service here as other places in Paris. They weren’t quite as passionate about the food. However, they were very polite in accommodating English speakers as well as those inquiring about ingredients. Overall, it was a very nice experience though, and I would go again.

My mom and I had an amazing meal here. The special right now(beef Wellington) was just fantastic. I usually only get to eat that around Christmas, so it was an exciting meal for me. The service was wonderful, the only thing that caused a slight problem was that they lost our reservation, but they fixed it quickly. I read a review about them sticking all English speakers/tourist types in one room, which is true and a bit offensive, but it came with its perks. It was a beautiful room and was very quiet for my mom who is hard of hearing.

We had a very enjoyable meal here. The service is excellent, even talking some unfamiliar Americans through the menu they were friendly and helpful. I ordered escargot(delicious) and I couldn’t get one of them out of the shell — they reduced the charge on the bill. The specialty of the house was an amazing cassoulet which we enjoyed quite a bit. Two could easily split it and get 2 first courses. All the dishes were excellent. The dessert was also a highlight — profiteroles with a fondue of melted chocolate was a big favorite. Make a reservation.(We had none and got lucky — they clearly preferred reservations)

When in Paris… always stop and have this fantastic experience. I have been eating here for 20 years and when Alain Ducasse purchased this family owned business I had concern that the charm and food would change — they did in all the right ways. Started with Escargot which were sublime and fined with the Tubot backed by a nice half bottle of Chassagne Montrachet — what a combination! I recommend eating here at least once whenever you are in Paris!

Benoit was one of the standout meals we had during our week stay in Paris. We came for lunch for the 3 course pre-fixe for 38 €(roughly translates to about $ 46). From the moment we walked in, the service was exemplary. The waiters & waitresses were very nice, polite, attentive, and not pretentious. If your French isn’t that great, that’s okay, because the English translation is right underneath. The waiters also know English so they were able to help explain the dishes. I don’t think we had a single bad dish there. The chocolate at the very end of the meal was decadent — as expected from an Alain Ducasse establishment.

We went there with my girlfriend for her birthday. First it is one of the only 1 star Michelin restaurant opened on a Sunday in Paris. We had a great experience. The place is a little traditional French bistro. The food is also based on classic French dishes, you know what you eat but it is very well prepared. All the dishes were great. Also the staff was very friendly and helpful. I think in this kind of places, especially in Paris it’s a plus to have a friendly staff. The wine list is good and the sommelier very helpful. The bill for 3 courses for 2 with wines was less than 300 €. Great food, quality and atmosphere.

At the end of a two-week stay in Paris, this was our big treat. We expected fairly high prices, so were not surprised with that. The facilities were impeccable, especially the upstairs. However, the evening we were there we really needed air conditioning but upstairs had none. The staff were attentive, welcoming, knowledgeable – everything you’d expect from a Michelin one star restaurant. I’m learning French, but there was plenty of English available if you needed it. My food was wonderful, but my wife and her friend ordered a special chicken dish«cooked in a bladder». I wouldn’t have chosen that particular word if I had been translating the menu into English. However, it did accurately describe the dish. As a result of the steaming effect, the chicken came out without any browning. Further, it came out slightly undercooked and a little bit tough. I think we would have gladly traded it for some Col. Sanders fried chicken at that point. It made an interesting presentation, and it was beautifully served by our waiter, but what was the chef thinking? Many times in our lives we have said that gourmet food often does not measure up to comfort food. That was certainly the case this night.

I love Benoit. We ate here on our first night in Paris and it was fabulous. The restaurant itself is so cute! And the service is great, they are friendly and there to please. You can tell this place has been here for a very long time, all the small architectural and design details are from another age and it is really quite romantic. Even the bathrooms are beautiful. The temperature in the restaurant was warm unfortunately, but this was the case at all the small bistros we went to in Paris. The food here is exceptional. Our favorite dish of the night was the John Dory I got as my main course. The sauce was so complex and delightful, it was one of the tastiest things from the whole trip. The asparagus in the dish was also cooked perfectly. My husband got the langoustine which he loved. His sauce was also fabulous. To start I got the smoked salmon and potatoes. I’m not a smoked salmon person, but it was really good. My husband got the escargot to start, he said it was good but not better than any other escargot he has had in America. The bread and butter they have is awesome and they also give you some gougeres to start with and those were fabulous. We got the chocolate cake for dessert and it was delightful. The wine was also fabulous. At this time, the restaurant has 1 Michelin star. This place is a gem.
