Great place to stop off and grab a beer and seat after. Great people watching and great place to rest your feet after walking around all day. Beers range from 3.50−5 euro.

Really enjoyed this café on the edge of Place Garibaldi. Walk from the centre of Vieux Nice on Rue de Collet up through Rue de Pairoliere and turn right when it ends at the main road. On your right will be Café Garibaldi, the perfect place to take in a casual lunch while enjoying the activity in the square and the sunshine outside. It’s inexpensive for lunch. Did you hear me? It’s Nice, and this place is INEXPENSIVE for lunch! They have decent options for emporter(take out), but you can sit and enjoy the paninis and sandwiches as well. Our delicious paninis(ham + cheese and chicken) were only around 6 euros each, a better option than other places in the square. Sit and savor the wonder of a hot, cheap panini: when the bread is light and crisp but not too thick, and you bite down more, your mouth meeting suddenly with the melting cheese and piping hot salty meat encased in this beautiful and yet simple portable sandwich. Filling, cheap and relaxing. The inside dining room is copper and dark wood — laying the foundations for a beautiful but also likely more expensive dinner. Based on my nose around, a visit here is likely best kept to coffee and simple sandwiches. But it’s a win!
