I have been to Okayama a few times mainly because I had nothing to eat at home or too lazy to cook etc. I only buy a simple menu to take home, never dine in. They take from 10 – 15 minutes to serve up a simple meal. The staff are fine but I wonder if their«sushi chef» has actually had any training at all because its pretty amateur hour. Anyway last night was the final straw for me. Lets start with the menu I ordered… their salad was clearly off and it tasted vile, it was very milky and just tasted wrong. The miso soup had maybe 4 tiny cubes of tofu and 3 slices of ordinary mushrooms floating on the top. The rice was probably cooked earlier that day and there were tiny pieces of burnt rice. Chopsticks had what looked like moulded specks on it and the sashimi oh the sashimi! my salmon sashimi had bones in it! there were still black pieces of what looked like the skin still attached and the salmon just tasted like it was a day old. The tuna sashimi was not fresh at all, there were dark pieces all over it and tasted metallic(not a good sign), the tai(Sea Bream) tasted really terrible and off and the texture was buttery, something your sashimi should NOT taste like. I felt sick after this meal and didn’t even finish it off. Please don’t waste your time and money on this place, unless you’re into D grade«Japanese» food. Do yourself a favour and go to Rue Sainte-Anne for authentic delicious Japanese food made by Japanese people.
