Small cozy place with a pretty waitress that understands English. The waffles are super thin and feel more like a crape than a waffle… I had the waffle with goat cheese, strawberry jam, and whip cream. Nothing was special about it but it was good and runs you about 5.50−7 euros depending on what you get. I wouldn’t recommend this place to a friend; anyone can make the same waffle at home.

Vohvelikahvila is the place to go when you are craving for a waffle or two. If you want to go double, 3,30 € will be added to the price of the single waffle of your choice. The menu offers sweet and savoury options and even a sugar-free waffle. Inside you feel like in a 19th century living-room — cosy, but not really my cup ´a´ tea. But outside! So lovely! The sparrows will be your companions as soon as you get your order: o)! So cute when they help themselves before a table gets cleaned by the staff and how they come begging with their beaks open. Or how they make chirping sounds if waiting takes too long and they start getting a bit impatient. Very brave ones will jump onto your table waiting for their chance. I only rate this place 4 stars and not 5, because I am a bit spoiled by the larger choice of toppings at waffle places in Berlin. But in Tampere, I would not look for alternatives since they add the toppings they have in a generous way and the staff is marvelous: o).

Whenever I am in Tampere, I come here, everytime. I’ve been coming here for years. Actually it is a very famous place in Tampere. Everyone knows it, and no wonder! The atmosphere, the interior, the service and of course: the waffles! You can also get them gluten and dairy free. Go, you will love it(and will be going back and back…)
