This is the nearest grosery store(or super market if you will) to the Rastila Camping Compound, within a walking distance from it’s gate. S-Markets belong to the biggest consumer product marketing chain in Finland and therefore this one offers also a good variety of everyday goods at reasonable prices. Along with the wide range of food you can buy non– or low-alcohol drinks and beverages, household materials, perfumery– and bathroom items, limited amount of electrical stuff etc. It lacks only a meat and fish counter, which is not acceptable for a shop of this magnitude(minus two stars). Fresh vegetables and fruits are available, though, even with a quite wide assortment. Folio packed meat and fish are of course at hand. The friendly personnel seem to know English well enough to meet the everyday needs, being also helpful with weighing, finding products and such. Guiding signs in English also help you with your shopping. Neibourghing karaōke– and pizza bars unfortunately spit out wobbling nuisances every now and then, but they are harmless, disappearing usually fast in to their caves and being certainly nothing to be afraid of. When landing to the premises with a vehicle, don’t forget to put the parking time meter with your arrival time somewhere to be seen. If you don’t have one, the first thing to pick up from the store is this stupid blue plastic apparatus, which I always forget to display and pay dearly for it. As does my older son. This is my daily store for grocery shopping, but to be honest, within even shorter a walking distance from the gate of the camping area is Rastila Metro Station, one stop westbound ride(accordingly, you go east) from Columbus shopping mall, introducing an abundance of shops, i.a. with fresh fish and meat counters. And Alko(The Liquor Store) of course…
