PRKL Club

Tagged as a metal bar but still very stylish. Not the type of place you expect for metal. Full bar, has all drinks. Small, so you might end up standing. No tables really.

PRKL was my place when I lived there. When you arrive, you will enter in the upstairs. It looks small but don’t let that fool you. That is the place for the more intimate discussions. Downstairs is the place to rock out with your co@k out, bang your head, or chill and jam; whatever you do.
The staff is nice. The clientele speak really good English. It is the typical metal crowd… after 2 am all you see is drunk people staggering. It’s funny to watch. You can meet some famous Finnish musicians in that place. It is sort of epic for the Finnish metal crowd. They have good gigs and hot men! What can I say, I LOVE Finnish metal guys! I think they also love foreign women as well. They always treated me with a warm welcome!
Serious! GO TO PRKL! Order a Karpalo Lonkero or a water and vodka with extra, extra ice, the Texas way. as I always used to say. lol

So far, PRKL is the best heavy metal bar in Helsinki. The atmosphere is pretty relaxed and they put some decent music. Even though it can get very crowded in the weekends, the fact that they have two floors is very helpful.
I haven’t really tried the food, but I’ve been told it’s quite good. They have some good beers, and if you wanna feel metal while you drink, they have a beer by the Finnish band Impaled Nazarene, called Goat Brew. On the other hand, they have a good shot selection. If you feel like having a good laugh with your friends, I recommend taking the Chili Vodka; it will sure be a fun story to tell later.
I strongly recommend checking the bar if you’re into metal; And it even has the perk of opening until 4am. Have a good one!

Probably my favorite place around Helsinki… there is a bar upstairs, a decent kitchen (the burgers are fantstic) and another bar downstairs.
At one end of the downstairs is a big TV so you can watch the hockies, and a low stage at the other end where they have lots of live bands playing. There is also a decent DJ downstairs, spinning metal… what else?
Foodwise, I got this «perkele plate» and it was freakin massive. The other thing they make is a smokin hot burger. If you can finish the whole thing you get your name on the chalkboard. (only like 20 or so names up there when I checked)
What else can I say… go there, ask for a «Karpalo Lonkero» maybe, enjoy the music and the kick back crowd. *very* cool staff here also!

The streetbar is fantastic. Great music and good drinks for a affordable price. A place where I feel welcome.
