This is a Spanish bar?! Just kidding. But really… who cares? It’s Helsinki. I’ve been to plenty of _______bars or ______restaurants that have nothing to do with _______or ______. I give up. My expectations died a long time ago. This bar DOES look South American to this North American and the party is going strong by midnight, which is of the utmost importance when you have a babysitter who has to leave by 1 a.m. Los Cojones reminds me of Llamas, just bigger. That’s really important since the reason I don’t frequent Llamas anymore(aside from the whole child thing) is that it’s too packed to get a cocktail in a timely manner. Los Cojones has tons of seating(major plus in a busy bar and 4″ heels), boozy but orderly patrons, and super nice bartenders — I knocked over a shot of tequila — oops! — and was promptly given another without asking. They make a mean Moscow Mule and my husband seems pleased with the beer selection. Vibe is low-key, music is high-tempo, and the crowd isn’t unattractive or dominated by drunk under-25s. I really like it here. I think you will too. As for it not being an authentic Spanish bar, welcome to Helsinki, home of «Tex-Mex». Just enjoy what it does have to offer: good drinks, good music, happy people(what!?), and good music. Any bar in Helsinki without a dance floor where I can dance anyway and no one bats an eye is A-OK with me. Los Cojones delivers. It’s a local favorite for me.

Beautifully decorated Spanish theme bar which makes you think you are in Spain rather than in Finland! A group of us happened to be walking around then caught sight of this bar, we decided to have some drinks before our next meeting. It was a good decision as the selection of drinks are mostly Spanish stuff and that was my first time experiencing it. I had one of the most popular Spanish beers(can’t remember the name) and it was great! I find it to be quite value of $$. Fortunately for us, the bar wasn’t crowded at that time and we had a corner for ourselves, so go there early and«chop» your place before the crowd comes in. You don’t need to travel to Spain to experience their beers and wines. The atmosphere is very suitable for gatherings especially after work. A relax and calming environment that will make you want to come back. I certainly will when I return to lovely Helsinki in the near future!

Just a cool little bar and restaurant on a side street and judging by the crowd, it has a real following of regulars. The tapas are outstanding. The bad news is that the drinks are expensive and measured with a single shot glas, but the good news is that it is a real fun upbeat bar

Los Cojones is decorated with attention to details. The Spanish theme can be seen in every part of the bar. You can even sit in a small bull fight arena. You also find the Spanish influence in their selection of drinks. You won’t find such a wide range of beers and wines that you might be used to from other places in the city but almost everything they offer comes from Spain. So time to try something new. Oh, and be there early. Especially on weekends it gets crowded in no time.

Not a pintxoteria at all. Not a Spanish bar or whatever you wanna call it. A pintxo isn’t a small bread slice with a meatball on it. 2.5 € for that? Are you joking? Same goes for the other so called«pintxos». It’s an average place to go with you friends and have a beer. But it’s definitely not what they are advertising. Short summary, very disappointed.
