When in Finland. and you just don’t fancy salmon. Nepalese is the way to go. Lot’s of them here, lamb with ginger and spinich curry was deeelicious as was Pablo’s ginger shrimp. Not much more to say it just really hit the spot.

Supposedly one of if not the best Nepalese restaurant in Helsinki! Delicious Asian cuisine with many dishes and variety. Good for a nice dinner or lunch gathering, place is small but mostly no need to reserve ahead. The décor is a bit cliché but don’t let that put you off. Waitresses are friendly. Try one of the tandoori dishes and you will surely appreciate it!

A very comfy Nepalese restaurant with friendly service and tasty food. The interior may even be the nicest among the Nepalese restaurants I have been to in this country. A bit worn perhaps, but nevertheless quite nice. I had lamb with a creamy cashew and onion sauce(IIRC, they call the dish Reshami Bhendo). Each choice for main course comes with rice, a bit of salad, raita, and naan bread, which was very good. It’s easy to recommend this restaurant.

Second night in Helsinki and was warned that everything would be closed for vappu. Saw this place a block from our hotel and stopped in to ask them what time they were going to close. Totally surprised when we found out that they were going to be open until 10 so decided we’d swing back for dinner. Service-great! We were sat right away. Server came back within minutes to take our order. We asked for water and were provided with a pitcher that he left on our table(odd in these parts of the world). Throughout the meal, the waiter was attentive without being obtrusive and packed my leftovers. Awesome. Menu-like a lot of places around here, first two pages were prix fixe. Rest of the menu was a la carte with vegetarian selections, lassis, and an alcohol menu. Food and bev-Ordered two vegetarian entrees:(1) spinach and cheese balls with tomato coconut cream and(2) the number 47 which came with two dishes: stewed cauliflower and fried lentils. Entrees were served with rice and naan(no need to order on the side). Portion sizes were unexpectedly on the larger side for what we’ve found around here. Flavor was on point. This was just really good, comforting Nepalese food that I would have equally enjoined here or anywhere internationally. Drinks, we ordered a mango and a banana lassi. Both were on par with what should be expected of these drinks. Overall just a really good place to grab dinner especially if you’ve been traveling through the region for a while and looking to deviate from Baltic cuisine.
