What a cool place! Because of the entrance area, stairway and the music I heard I wasn’t sure if I was entering a club or a restaurant. And to my surprise it was both! Almost immediately upon entering there is a spiral stairway(which I’ve come across frequently in Helsinki/Espoo) to the second level. Once I arrived at the second level I immediately decided I liked the place. There’s a decent size dance floor located to the right at the top of the stairs. Straight ahead at the the top of the stairs is a well stocked bar(many types of rum). Off to the left of the bar and behind it is the dining area. The décor was nice! I’ve never been to Cuba but I have been to Little Havana, Miami, FL. and this place would easily fit in there. The walls have lots of great Cuban influenced artwork and pictures. The lighting is just right to create the proper ambiance. The only thing missing is the great cigars :-) The menu had lots of great choices. I ended up going with a very spicy(and very large) grilled chicken tortilla. All the ingredients were super fresh and flavorful. Had I been home this was easily been two meals for me. Because I’m on the road(and in hotel without a refrigerator… guess I could have used the mini bar) I ‘forced’ myself to «eat the whole thing». And it was delicious!!! The service was great! The wait for my food was an acceptable length of time(~12−15 minutes) and staff checked on me frequently enough that it was not annoying(and I did not feel abandoned) As I was leaving the club was starting up. There were a few couples were on the dance floor(and there was a guy at the entrance to collect the cover charge). I know, I should have stayed. Unfortunately I needed to be in the office very early the next day. I’ll have to report on the club experience following my next visit to Helsinki.
