I first went to Aino before there was Unilocal in Finland…5 years ago. I fondly remembered it. I returned to Aino few months ago for another memorable meal. All you have heard about the reindeer filet is true. Just get it! They are known for the reindeer and other Finnish specialties. We did the set menu with wine pairings and it was a perfect date night/last night meal in Helsinki. Special mention goes out to the spectacular rhubarb dessert. The ambiance is perfect for a date night or a business dinner. It may be located on the busy tourist strip of town, but it seems to be frequented by locals and tourists alike. Service is on par with the food and attentive. Thank you for maintaining consistency over the years. Aino will always be my go-to restaurant for reindeer in Helsinki. This foreign Moomin feels like I am going home every time I dine at Aino.

Modern take on Finnish and Lappish food on the Esplanadi by the Harbour. We went on a sunny Saturday afternoon but went during an off time(around 2 to 3 pm) so did not have to deal with the lunch or dinner rush. Since it was in between dinner and lunch I only had a soup(A cream of asparagus soup) which was delicious. Fresh bread was also great. Had a lovely drink with berries in it. The menu changes seasonally Would definitely go back to try some Dinner options one day, They did have one good looking Vegetarian option which I would have tried if I was hungrier.

Consistently good quality food(traditional Finnish food with a little twist). okay service. A little on the pricey side but still worth it. The location is fantastic. Overall, a perfect place to take family(especially outside from finland) or business associates.

Just perfect food in the middle of Helsinki close to the old harbour. This restaurant offers finnish and lappish specialities. The menu is visable on the internet(see link) and seasonally changing. You have to wait little longer if it’s crowded(as it mostly is reservations are recommended).
