I’m having a lunch here maybe once in a month. Sumo is better than most of the lunch sushi restaurants but isn’t blowing your mind. The service and atmosphere are both good in this Scandinavian-Japanese style decorated(read = wood and simple design) restaurant. There are always app. 5 options for lunch, not only sushi but other Japanese dishes too. A bowl of miso soup(yum!) and a cup of nice green tea is also included to the lunch at least with sushi. Though ingredients taste fresh, I still sometimes feel something is missing. Sumo is nevertheless an option for Mäntyviita’s Sushi Art, though the latter still wins their competition. I’d like to give 3,5 stars to Sumo, but because 3 feels too little I’ll choose 4 stars.

I had hoped to grab a quick lunch at Sumo, but arrived a bit late for that(way over lunchtime actually, it was my own fault) so I decided to grab a small Tsu Moriawase 12 piece set(16,50 €) and was not disappointed. A few maki rolls and some nigiri as a nice little light meal. The squid was medium chewy(imho) and quite good, the rest of the plate was just excellent, especially the eel-nigiri that I had saved for last. I was not disappointed even if the set was a bit more expensive than in the average sushi-bar, it easily matched that up in quality. Also worth noting that Sumo is a full Japanese restaurant, offering a wider menu of Japanese cuisine. Can’t wait to try out more of their offerings.
