It’s fantastic — the best Mexican food in Denmark. The service is good and the meals are top quality — so it’s great value for money. The proprietor, Jon, is a very nice guy to boot.

Good Mexican restaurant. It’s not very cheap, but the dishes are big and the quality is high. The owner is a very nice person

It’s hard finding a decent Mexican food place in Denmark. Low and behold, I got lucky. Having been referred here by a friend, I have to say, I had high hopes. Just like my friend has. The food is amazing. Right temperature, the right size. I got to talk with the owner and chef. A very nice American. Gave me a couple of the fresh tortillas to take home. I will definitely be coming back.

i haven’t found real mexican food here yet and i’ve pretty much given up searching. but little by little, i’m overcoming my fear of trying tex mex in denmark. my first impression of it was a pretty sad plate of ‘nachos’(really just chips and salsa with some avocado blitzed into crème fraîche) in a café, but that obviously was not the best setting for it. so far i’ve tried the taco shop in amager and the taco diner; they were tasty, inexpensive, and very filling but not spicy at all. several of my american friends have been hyping this place up for the past few months and i finally had the chance to see for myself. the first good sign was the chips; they were warm! perhaps fresh from the fryer? they were not the kind you buy in a bag at the very least. and the salsa actually packed a bit of a punch behind the nice flavour of roasted tomatoes. unfortunately that day they were out of triple sec so we weren’t able to get our first choice of frozen margaritas. instead i went with a strawberry daiquiri, which was a bit of a let down. i couldn’t taste any alcohol in it so it seemed like a kiddie drink. luckily the carnitas burrito fared much better; the meat was flavourful and falling apart and the salsa actually had a bit of heat to it. the accompanying rice and refried beans were also seasoned well and tasted as they should. i couldn’t finish because the portion was HUGE; the burrito was almost the size of my forearm. next time i’d like to share a plate with someone or get half in a doggy bag, and hopefully i can get a frozen margarita with a double-shot.

This place is owned and run by an American and his lovely Danish wife. It’s very credible Mexican, and should be, because Jon the charismatic owner grew up in Los Angeles, where they know a thing or two about tacos. The night we went they were slammed with business, and had run out of the delicious ribs. I hope to eat them next time, though, because they looked and smelled delicious. I opted for comfort food with the Chicken Chimchangas, my friend had the tacos, and my husband had the best dish of all 3 – the chili con carne, which was delicious. Desserts are also very rich and well prepared. The ice cream served with our cake was of high quality and much more dense than the ice cream you normally get on the side. Friendly service, nice atmosphere. I will be back!
