Pastis is a great restaurant offering classic French dishes and drinks. I was suprised to see that they offer kir and kir royal on the menue since it’s a typical apéritif in France and it’s the first time I see it in a French restaurant in Copenhagen. It was a good menue because we were able to choose two starters instead of one starter and one maine course. The goat cheese salad was perfect to start with since it was fresh and light, and the onion soup was delicious with this perfectly gooey layer of cheese on top of it — I can’t believe I had to go out of France to try it for the first time! For a main course, I had the steamed mussels. They had so much flavor! Especially the sauce that came with them, along with fennel, rosemary and parsley. For dessert, I had the profiteroles. I can definitely recommend them, since it is one of my favorite French desserts. The service was really attentive and helpful through the whole night– they even took our coats at the door, which was a nice touch. I have to go back to try more dishes, and also because I’m still dreaming about the onion soup. Seriously.

Excellent French Bistro with classic dishes. Onion soup is to die for! Waiters are ambitious but a bit young and inexperienced. Dining room gets crowded and the temprature gets almost unbareable. Several people left between courses to get some air. I guess they sell a lot of bottled water though! Probably will be back! The food alone would bring it to 5 stars.

Walking in, the interior is decorated nicely, and the atmosphere is inviting. The outside looks a little shady, but never judge a book by its cover right. The service here was also great. Unfortunately, the price to food quality ratio just didn’t do it for me. For 2 dishes and 2 beers, the tab came out to 470DK(~$ 75), and this was for lunch. For the food, we got the Tartine de Foie Gras and the Steak Frites. The foie gras was… okay; I’m actually not a fan of it at all so the dish didn’t really appeal to me. The steak was actually pretty good, but it cost 255DK(~$ 40). While the meat was good, it wasn’t anything spectacular, so it didn’t warrant such a high price in my opinion. The steak was cooked very well though, and the garlic and tomato that accompanied it paired well. The fries themselves were okay, but the mayonnaise that came with it was amazing. It was creamy and perfect. The beer we got was surprising good(as I’m not a big fan of it). I actually don’t know the name because we just asked the waitress for her recommendation, and she served us her recommendation for a light beer. It cost 20DK per glass. Overall, definitely not a bad place, but for the price, I think there were definitely other places that would have satisfied me for less.

I ate dinner here at around 19.30 on a Friday night, and my friend and I were lucky enough to get a table without a reservation. I had the braised rabbit with cassoulet, while my friend chose the lamb shank with creamed potatoes and pistou. The rabbit was well-cooked and flavoursome, and the cassoulet was comforting and creamy, with plenty of herbs and also candied citrus peel, which worked very well. The lamb was even better — tender and juicy with a rich gravy, creamy potato gratin and lots of delicious pistou. For dessert, we had crème brûlée and profiteroles with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce. I must confess that the quality of the desserts didn’t match that of the main courses, so that I was slightly dissapointed. Also, the wine glasses served at Pastis really are on the stingy side — compared to other places in Copenhagen, wine is expensive here.

Food: EXCELLENT Service: Extremely polite, yet inattentive and sub par Needed to ask for everything more than once — bread, salt, steak knife, did not pour our wine nor offer water refill BADNEWS: A long Danke hair was found grilled into my fish entrée. Pretty gross. When shown to the wait staff, he simply tossed it to the ground and moved on! Maybe it’s good luck in Copenhagen to have hairy food? The tasty food and chic crowd made up for the hairy fish and retarded service. I’ll go back

Great service, nice ambience, delish food. I always get the Chevre salad(which is onbthe sweet side to be fair) and when they have it — the confit de canard. Their lapin(rabbit) is filling and tasts like in France, never dry!- and their steak with fries is UH!-mazing. Nice place for celeberty-watching too if you know who these mostly Danish people are.

The other day my friend and I went to Pastis to celebrate her engagement. My friend is a big foodie and every time she has a celebration she goes there, so I went with it. Pastis is a little French bistro and when we entered through the door, my eyes were met with nude art. The art was eye catching but actually not vulgar in any way, but made the interior more French.. We both sat down and first ordered a glass of bobbles to set the mood. they have a great variety of wine and bobbles so we had lot to choose from. For the main course we ordered steak, with fries and bearnaise sauce. We received the food quickly and it was served and presented nicely by the waiter. The steak was perfectly cooked(I like it medium rare) and their bearnaise sauce was to die for. If you need an excuse to eat steak, for a reasonable price, I recommend Pastis.

Been there last Saturday evening for a birthday dinner. The food is pretty good, foie gras, beef, fries, goat cheese salad. But I am cutting two stars: First one for being really really slow in service and the second one for super graphic nude photography on the walls. There is no way I would take any business guests here and possibly no kids because of the images. I wonder if those are permanent or just a temporary exhibition.

For a French Bistro I loved this place. Small, quaint, quiet and lit by candlelight inside on each table. A place for couples at night. When you go through the front door, you are greeted by complete blackness, its a curtain that you need to walk through. The service was great, very nice and is there for your every need. I ordered the homard or lobster which is cooked perfectly. My plate du Jour was Lemon sole with a brown butter caper sauce. Piping hot and again perfectly cooked. The place was packed and I can see why. It is on the high side of price but worth it as the food, décor and service hit on all marks. If I was given an amuse bouche it would have been 5 stars, mental note guys, with prices this high I suggest you start this trend. d

A great French restaurant in Copenhagen. What a surprise… but I am pretty sure that they have the best french fries I have ever had. I have had the pleasure of eating here a few times and I am never disappointed. I have tried the rabbit which was very tender, but my favorite is the steak sandwich. It is piled high with meat and fresh veggies with melted cheese on a nice brioche bun. Perfectly executed. I would say, if you want to splurge, give this place a shot, and be SURE to order the fries!

Really outstanding meal. We came here as part of a sort of «project close» celebration, and had a really nice evening. I started with their«starter of the day» which was raw marinated scallops in a tomato broth with chopped tomato, corn, and peppers. Really outstanding. I love raw scallop, with it’s light sweet taste. There was no grit. Plus, the veggies were very good along side. I don’t typically associated scallops with tomato, but the acid may have had a slight ceviche effect on the scallop. Either way, really good. My entrée was the rabbit, which came in a dish of white bean, celery, and carrot. The menu called it a cassoulet — I clearly did not know what this was, but now that I have eaten it and looked it up, I like it. Instead of pork skin, I think the rabbit was substituted, and there were a couple big slices of preserves sweet lemon rind to garnish. These were really good cut up small and eaten with the delicious beans and veggies. As for the actual centerpiece of the dish, the rabbit was richly flavored and perfectly done. Not dry, not tough — really good. Fell off the bone — I was able to clean the hindquarter on my plate very easily. To finish, I had the Belgian waffle with marinated berries and vanilla ice cream. The ice cream was ice cream, but the waffle had the crisp caramelized outside that I want with this sort of thing, and the dark sweet cherries and blueberries were in a rich sweet reduction… A simple, but very nice way to end the meal. Service was friendly — as I’m coming to find, English menus are not a problem, plus they were quite apologetic when they didn’t have a German menu for our German speaker. But he got along fine — and raved about the lobster starter. The prices are a little higher, but not out of line with what I’m seeing in the rest of Copenhagen.

Good French bistro food. They are well know for their moules frites and steak frites. You will find businessmen along with young mothers with their babies and random shoppers eating here. They can enjoy a lot of different wines; from good basic wines to fine expensive wines. Remember to book a table well ahead.

I remember back when I first arrived in Copenhagen, somehow stumbling open(gravitating toward?) Pastis on a cool spring day. A shared name with no affiliation to Pastis in New York, I couldn’t help but be drawn in. And so naturally, on what would eventually become my quest to compile a checklist of all restaurants in CPH that were worth trying, Pastis was the first one I wrote down. Finally got there last night, and I was so thrilled that my expectations did not deceive me. Really great and friendly service, classy and cozy look and feel, mood lighting(great for date nights and girls nights), beautiful menu with a variety of the French food favorites, and a pretty extensive wine selection as well. 2⁄3 of us ordered the Steak Frites, because it just sort of felt like you couldn’t NOT order it in a place like this, and it was delicious. My meat was cooked to order(medium rare), and the frites were amazing. We also shared the Chèvre Chaud salad(which, I must admit, was ordered more for the chévre chaud than it was for the salad) as a starter, and the«Pommes»(apple sorbet, applesauce, and apple crumble) for dessert. Both were fantastic. Overall, this is a great place to know about around town. Especially in the winter, I think I’d gladly camp myself at a corner table just about any time of day or night, and eat my heart out.

the best steak frites in a restaurant in Copenhagen. It’s so good that I don’t even bother ordering anything else there. The interior is pretty low-key, and it can get to be pretty crowded sometimes, but it is worth it.
