Such a delicious, tasty, fresh, and healthy fish and food market that was not too pricey if you were to choose 2 salads and one seafood item. One side has an array of different salads like potatoe salad, couscous, etc and marinated seafoods like ceviche while the other side had seafood by the weight. One thing that really stood out to me was their fried fish balls which was huge and SOOO good! Slightly too salty for my taste but I can see it perfect with bread or even chopped up and out into a salad or part of a bigger meal. Definitely need to stop here for quality food!

Hav 2 go — for amateurs of fish tartare ! Many choices of fish(tartare, to ceviche, to crab salat, to salmon salad). pretty original vegetables, couscous or quinoa salads. Surprising how you wanna try everything at this booth! All so colourful and tasty. I had the tuna tartare(with soya, shalotts, sesame oil) with a quinoa salad on the side and some bread: 60dk for this lunch menu. Satisfying but still hungry for another booth, so that was ok. I’ve try the ceviche, of course very fresh, but so my taste too fishy-fishy. The good thing with Hav, is that you can bring back food 100g or 250g to bring back home for an awesome appetizer. You buy a baguette or some croutons with it, and you are set for a great snack.

I think the food here is reasonably priced, especially for being located in Torvehallerne. I got a small platter of seafoods and then some seared tuna to go. I really enjoyed the little tapas platters you can pick and choose which seafoods you want. Shrimp and ceviche were my favorites. I was somewhat disappointed in the seared tuna. It was cooked unevenly and also the black sesame seasoning on the outside had absolutely no salt in it. I hear about how good this usually is, but I was surprised with how there was a lack of flavor enhancement. The tuna was of very high quality but I need to add a few drops of soy sauce to every slice to make it better.

The food here is so good and not too expensive either. We ordered the large platter that comes with four seafood and 3 salads and a loaf of bread plus a beer and the total was only 235 dkk(around 30EUR). Considering it was such good seafood, the price was pretty reasonable. For the platter, we had: — seared tuna: the seasoning outside was super delicious and the tuna was so fresh — octopus ceviche: made with strawberries and really brought out the flavour — this was my favourite — smoked mussels: i loved the smokiness of this dish! — salmon tartare: i thought was just okay but my bf really liked it — quinoa: bitter — pearl barley: delish — hummus: good The guy who helped us was super friendly and helpful. The american owner, however, was kinda douchey to his employees. Nevertheless, the food here is so good that i cannot wait to eat there again if i can.

I buy all of my fish at one of two fish mongers in Copenhagen: Hav(at Torvehallerne), or Nørreport Fiskehus. Yes, I know they are very close to one another, and yes, I wish one of these two places was located a little bit closer to Frederiksberg, but no matter. Hav is what I call reliable. If you’ve ever lived anywhere outside of Denmark, you probably know exactly what I mean here. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gone somewhere KNOWING that some store had something I wanted the last time I was there, only to find that on this visit, no dice. Hav keeps a good stock of your fishy basics year-round, and then of course specializes in the seasonal stuff(shellfish not excluded). For those of us ballsy enough to try a seafood recipe with marlin in it or something, they import those too(warning in advance that it’s not cheap — but at least it’s available). I still haven’t gotten over how expensive even local seafood is in Denmark given that we are SURROUNDEDBYWATER, but nevermind — I don’t go to Hav to save money. They have excellent caviar by the way(speaking of not saving money), and even though their salmon filets go for 40kr a piece, they are always good.
