SAS Lounge

Without a doubt, the nicest lounges I’ve ever set foot in. Don’t get me wrong, Copenhagen is a splendid airport with great amenities and food choices, but once you get over the shopping and wandering around, you find yourself (normally) with quite a while until your flight and, from experience, you’ll also be cognizant that there isn’t a whole lot on the other side of passport control. In fact, more or less, there’s only a convenience store and a duty free shop.
Enter the SAS lounge, which is located just a literal stone’s throw away from the lines for passport control and right at the end of the food court. If you’re flying on SAS Business, entry is free and requires just a simple scan of your boarding pass. It’s a great escape from the hustle and bustle that goes on in the terminal and, at least for me, a welcomed change from having to deal with the herds of weary travelers outside. Sure, you could sit on a semi-​decent leatherette chair in the terminal and people watch, paying for food and using more or less adequate bathrooms, but … why? It’s much more enjoyable to spend your time between flights in this cozy, quiet, modern and well stocked lounge with virtually no noise, no flights being called out, nobody running around with luggage and no hassles. You get exquisite bathrooms, showers, even rooms where you can literally grab a bed and sleep until your flight time.
As for the food, it varies, but it’s all free. Typically in the mornings they’ll have a spread including rolls, rye bread (it’s Denmark, after all), yogurt with various choices of toppings, and typically some cold cuts and cheese to make sandwiches with. There’s also a snack bar area which, typically anyway, stocks some pretty delicious cookies. Beverages for breakfast include everything you could want, including water, milk, juice, coffee and, should you feel so inclined, soft drinks and even booze of various sorts.
I’ve traveled through this airport many times and only recently started making use of the lounge, not having fully appreciated before what it was that I was missing. In my humble opinion, there is simply no better place, even at an airport as beautiful and well managed as Copenhagen, to spend your time before going through passport control. It’s so nice to be out of the rat race and to just sit down in peace and quiet, read a book, browse the web or just relax and watch TV. You can be as productive or unproductive as you like, all the while making use of the nicest facilities in the airport. If you’re stopping over, make it a point to check in and check it out, you won’t regret it.

One of SAS’s flagship lounges, this location is divided into two tiers: downstairs is for SAS Plus and Business passengers, while the upstairs is for Star Alliance Gold and Eurobonus Gold/​Diamond members. I went to the upstairs portion and I’d have to guess that the only difference over downstairs is that there’s more booze, a brighter, airier setting, and lots more space to spread out.
There are several self-​serve food stations that have a good variety of offerings, whether salads, fruit, cheese /​cold cuts, or hot entrees. The booze is also self-​serve, and includes bottles of domestic Danish beers, an array of wines, and a small liquor selection.
Besides the main balcony /​dining area overlooking the SAS Business lounge downstairs, there are two other seating areas, one in the back through an archway, and another in a glassed-​in room in the front that has a view outside. There are plenty of power ports everywhere, and attendants are quick to collect used dishes and utensils.
About the only shortcoming is that there are few foreign-​language newspapers available. I’m not sure if this is also the case downstairs. Wifi can be a bit slow to set up on your laptop or your phone, but is nevertheless just fast enough to allow a Skype conversation with minimal bandwidth congestion. As for the décor, the lounge features Scandinavian design: just modern enough without sacrificing coziness or comfort. The room is punctuated by several large lamps that, for me, evoked the aurora borealis.
When compared to SAS’s Star Alliance partners, this lounge far exceeds anything United could ever achieve, is roughly on par with Lufthansa’s lounges, but does not rise to the level of Asian airlines’ lounges. Nevertheless, this lounge is more than good enough for a 4-​star Unilocal rating.

One of the better SAS lounges ive been, and you can tell that they put some energy into this to make it happen. Its big with a lot of different seats depending on your objective and mood. Their buffe and overall service is definitely updated, and this is definitely one of the lounges you still can enjoy even though its a bit crowded.
Its a calm atmosphere and they have enough ppl to make this place a clean and tidy experience. If you have a few hours layover and considering having a meal, it might be worth paying if your not eligible by status or booking class.

In my opinion, one of the best SAS lounges. Lots of space, several seating areas, lots of daily papers (both Scandinavian and International), space to sit and work, a variety of food options, wine/​beer if you so wish, and a nice fresh ambiance. Recommended!

Plenty of seating and big tables where you can work and eat with others like community table. I like that there is a quite area separated from main area. Food is simple. For Breakfast, you have boiled egg, cheese, tomato to make a breakfast sandwich. And muslie and yogurt. You can have instant ramen if you need something spicy.
Free wifi and plenty of free PC to use.

Awesome lounge to waste some time between flights! Free (decent) wi-​fi. Delicious (all-​you-​can-​eat) food, wine, beer, coffee, soda. Tons of tables and chairs, outlets, clean bathrooms. Costs $ 30US/​person, but if you consider the prices of everything else in Copenhagen this is a deal. (I spent $ 9.50 at the Starbucks getting my usual $ 5 latte).
Definitely recommended if you have a 2+ hours to relax and recharge between flights, or before a long international flight.

Airport lounge shoot-​out: Part ⁵⁄₅
This is the last of five airport lounges that I visited recently over a two week period. This SAS Gold lounge is located in Terminal 3. Upon passing through the doors, I first entered through the electronic gates on the left, but that is the business lounge. When I figured this out, I exited and went to the right — the upstairs lounge for EuroBonus Gold members.
Pros: Electronic gates — just scan your boarding pass and go through. The food selection was great — I had a gravlax salad with egg and all sorts of goodies. They had a soupe du jour, but I was already full and didn’t try it. Good selection of self serve wine, beer, soft drinks. Plenty of snacks. Free WiFi provided by the lounge.
Cons: Now I’m just nitpicking. The WiFi did not allow VPN access so it made it difficult to do my work. Also, it wasn’t immediately obvious how to gain access to the shower facilities.
I really enjoyed my couple of layover hours in this lounge and the time flew. No, it is not the best airport lounge I’ve ever experienced (although close), but it is indeed the best out of five in the past two weeks so full points :) I look forward to my next layover here. Thanks, SAS!

Stay away from the showers. I beg of you. It reminds me of a seedy motel – outdated and very strong smell of smoke. No storage lockers so you have to bring in everything you have with you into the tiny smelly bathroom.
The rest of the lounge is HUGE and clean. Breakfast, which consisted of an assortment of breads, cheese, meat, hard boiled eggs, granola, cereal, milk, fruit, many beverages, and cookies, was excellent.
The star alliance gold lounge is upstairs. Same stuffs up there but more exclusive so you can turn your nose up even higher. We stayed downstairs in the back and it was very quiet and relaxing. Caught up on CNN, charged up our phones and used the wifi.
Oh they also have a bunch of newspapers from around the world for gratis. Which is great because my dad likes to collect newspapers and demands I bring home any newspaper I can get when I’m out of the country. Jackpot!

This is a great airport lounge. Nothing extraordinary, but just the things you would expect from any lounge worth it’s name.
It’s spacious with a wide selection of seatings. Everything from a comfy chair to a proper work desk. It’s also has a lot of space so it’s rarely full.
Food is actually quite good in comparison. Always one soup and a smaller salad bar where you can find greens, bread, cheese and some kind of rice/​pasta «dish». On the drink side you almost everything you could think of, starting from water and ending up in the whiskey bottle.
In addition to all of this you also can find a wide selection of newspapers and magazines. Complimentary wifi that usually works (this is the weakest spot) and power outlets almost everywhere.

Pretty awesome airport lounge. I was a little worried going into this as SAS was pretty low-​budget on the plane. Their Star Alliance Gold lounge section was incredibly spacious, with lots of light.
Nice buffet, good selection of alcohol. Friendly staff.
Not much in the way of English language newspapers or magazines.

Spacious lounge, lots of places to sit, relax, and enjoy yourself before a flight. Lots of food and drink options: self-​service.
