Frederiksberg Have

I love this park. It is big, well kept and full of life where many dogs and children are being walked :-)

Went here for an evening walk while my wife napped at the hotel, the park has a nice network of paths. It was too late in the day to check out the castle, although I think it has very limited opening hours anyway. One random surprise was taking a walk through a field and coming up on the elephant exhibit from the zoo, which borders the park. It seemed like I could just hop over the rail and run towards the elephants, although I’m sure there is security in place.
The trails can be a little confusing, which was a problem when I was coming back and it was getting dark. I made it out though, and back to the bus, which picks you up right near the park entrance.

Lovely green area for escaping the city rush. People go here to sunbathe, have a picnic, have a walk or a run, for a first date, to read a book, to take a tour at the river with the little boats or see the elephants! Yes you can go and see the elephants of the Copenhagen zoo free of charge as they combined the elephant outdoor area with the park. Such a great idea to give a nice experience to people that maybe don’t have the money to spend to enter the zoo. And of course it is the favorite place for kids!
There is also another funny thing in the park. The babies dummies (pacifiers) are being hung on one specific tree with goodbye notes! This is the way the children get rid of their pacifiers in Denmark!
There are also happenings in the park. I was yesterday at the Stella Polaris festival with music and lots of people. If you live in copenhagen you should have been here at least once!

Great space for relaxing or taking a walk. Agree with what other reviewers said, there’s nothing that makes this park especially different from other cities, but its a wonderful space to have in the middle of Frederiksberg. Make sure to get a good look at the Palace and to stop by and see the elephants in the Copenhagen Zoo while you’re here!

Normally I’m really easily impressed with green spaces in Europe, but something about this park just didn’t jive with me – I think it’s mostly just the layout of the park which may strike someone as an unfair review, but I’m really just not a fan of it.
Some positives – the park is quite large. Not absurdly large though – I walked from one end to the other in maybe 10 – 15 minutes so it’s manageable, but it definitely comes off as very large. It’s very much «the» park in Copenhagen which is really nice. There’s a casual palace hanging out in the middle of the park and plenty of nice grassy areas to hang out in.
I think the reason this park didn’t rub me the right way was mostly due to the layout of it – a lot of it is separated by water making it very difficult to get from one side of the park to the other. There are certainly pathways that connect both sides, but something about the way it’s structured made it feel very restricting to me rather than liberating.
tldr; it’s not a bad park, I’m just personally not a fan

«One in every major city» type park.

I’ve got to give it to the city planners of Copenhagen. So many nice outdoor nature spaces it’s mind boggling. Between that and the number of castles. Since the bus didnt seem to want to show up, I walked from city hall/​Tivoli gardns down all of Vesterbrogade to get here. An interesting journey to with a welcome fitting end of vast nature!

Frederiksberg is THE place of Copenhagen where you don’t want to be and that’s a good thing cause they don’t want you there. people are racist and unfriendly, they seem to be convinced that they are a bit better than the rest of the city when it’s exactly the contrary.
don’t just the Danish because of the people you’ll meet in that neighbourhood, it’d be unfair. the park is nice though. you can have a meal for a good deal in café phoenix just near by in allégade (i recommend the falafel) then have a long walk in the park and then go back to allégade and enjoy a drink + free concert at café intime (the only decent people of Frederiksberg are there)

ein super park im östlichen frederiksberg. né menge joggingrouten, wenn man so um die 6 km laufen will, kann man sich ohne probleme durchlegen. zu empfehlen ist, am elefantenhaus des zoos vorbeizulaufen. im park ist quasi ein kostenloser zoobesuch inklusive. der park schließt übrigens um 21 uhr. wenn man kein dänisch versteht, das erzählt einem der herr auf dem fahrrad der kurz vorher seine runden dreht. schön ist auch das asiatische haus und der blick auf die offiziersschule am roskildevej von unten. wer lieber länger joggen möchte kann den park auf der anderen seite gleich mit nutzen. dann geht es aber für 100m streng bergauf. die nähe zur copenhagen business school bringt tagsüber né menge studenten in den park. es gibt ein kleines café und auch einen typischen hot dogwagen an dem man sich verpflegung besorgen kann.
