Sørup Is

Delicious ice cream. As my business hosts explained, this is a small dairy that’s been making ice cream for some time, and it’s just a little more special than the every day stuff. So he told us to drive north on Kongevej, and turn left to follow signs towards Sørup. But skip the run of the mill ice cream store at the corner where we turned. And he was right. My pistachio ice cream was very good, but the liquorice is what will bring me back for more before I fly home. Reminds me of my my trip to Iceland — vanilla ice cream with veins of thick liquorice sauce running through it. Just awesome. My «two scoop» serving was large — and they have an option that involves, no joke, 12 scoops. The Danish equivalent of the Colonial Kitchen Sink, I suppose.
The girl working the stand that day was quite friendly — they don’t have English menus, but she was patient when explaining things to a group of non-​Danish speakers, and apologetic when they didn’t take credit cards (so have some kroner with you before you set out).
