A spectacular collection of Islamic, Danish and European art and history. The founder built his collection in his home, now the museum, and established a foundation to share it with the public for free in perpetuity. An extraordinary gift to humanity! All the displays are well thought out and visitors use an iPad to get information on all the objects in multiple languages. If you love art and history you’ll need several hours to enjoy the exhibits. Indeed, if you’re a researcher with specific interests you could spend several hours in a single room.

I regret having had so little time in my schedule to spend here. I stopped in on the advice of a friend to specifically view the top two floors of Islamic art and found the exhibits utterly breathtaking. Carefully lain out to guide the visitor through every room before moving to the next floor, the place of packed with exquisite artifacts. I could have spent several hours in the rooms of miniature paintings, going through every drawer and poring over every inch of them.
