I came to Nam Nam on a quest for the flying cheese(highly recommended by a foodie friend), but unfortunately the server informed us that the chef had left and taken the roti recipe with him. My friend and I decided to stay anyway, taken in by the trendy vibe and friendly staff, and were glad we did. We sat in the area by the bar, next to the giant windows(the dining room was rather dark). First, the cocktails were phenomenal. The Singapore Sling was as close to authentic as it gets(and certainly tasted better than those made at the Raffles in S’pore, which are all from a super sweet mix). My friend’s mango fizz was deliciously frothy, and the bartender created a yummy gin concoction for the second round. We shared two appetizers to start: fresh prawn spring rolls served with fish sauce and thick peanut sauce, and the prawns in panko to dip in chili mayo. The flavors brought me back to Singapore. The main dishes were also tasty. We had the laksa(great flavors, but certainly not as spicy as it would have been in Malaysia) and char kway teow(excellent, albeit a few too many scallions scattered throughout). I’ll be back on my next visit to CPH, though perhaps just for appetizers and drinks.

Asian fusion is definitely the right category for this restaurant. It’s hip and the Decour inside is modern and cozy at the same time. The food was really good. The ceviche appetizer was awesome and the curries were solid too. The spicy coconut margarita was a great finisher for the meal. The one thing I was sort of annoying was the service wasn’t very good, definitely below par in Denmark, and the music was way too loud. Loud like an Abercrombie and Fitch or Hollister store in the US.

My friend brought me here, and I was excited to try it. There were good and bad points. The staff are super friendly and accommodating, so definitely a good point. I really enjoyed the flying cheese, and the mussels. Unfortunately, half of the mussels weren’t even open, which means they were bad and we couldn’t eat them. However, the broth had a really good flavor. I was very excited about the duck, yet it was a bit on the dry side. The meal ended with coconut ice cream which was very yummy. I think I need to try this place again. Even my friend who has eaten here several times said the food has been better, so maybe it was just an off night.

Such a nice place and kind, attentive and easy-going staff. The food was great, just appropriately spiced and with a very distinct taste. I’m definitely coming back.

A spontaneous decision to book a table at this new little Claus Meyer joint on Vesterbro, the trendy and cool part of Copenhagen — at least in my view. The host was a really friendly guy so you felt welcome straight away. The restaurant is «L-shaped», and unfortunately we were seated in the more boring part of the restaurant. My great companion more than made up for lack of atmosphere, but if you have a choice ask to be seated in the ‘larger’ area rather than the area by the window. Then the food — a lot of the items looked great and my partner had a difficult time choosing. However, the Singapore cuisine offers very little to vegetarians — there were practically two items on the menu, a roti with cheese and a raw salad — none of which constitutes a proper dinner in my world. I went for the roti as I was in mood for a warm dish. It was good, but nothing out the ordinary. My partner went for the lamb with rice, it looked good! And from the looks of it they have a range of good cocktails on the menu.

Finally a place in Copenhagen, that not only has a different menu from all the other pan-asian restaurants, but also have a vibe(that in both areas) reminded me of the little good joints often found in Tokyo, London and NYC. Mind you, I was there 3 weeks from the opening, which can be good and bad. Food was excellent for the kind of place it is. Service was attentive, friendly and quick. Menu was authentic and appetizing. If you’re in for asian food and want something different from the copy/paste menu of other asian restaurants in Copenhagen — and have a nice time to boot — this is for you.

I’m torn between 3 and 4 stars. On the one hand, they have nice beer and the service is decent, on the other, it’s all a bit underwhelming. I’d honestly hoped for a more exciting experience. The pork was very tasty, as were the mussels, but I wasn’t blown away by the flavor and had hoped it would be spicier. Desserts look lovely, on the other hand. If I do a return visit I may order something smaller and go for dessert. Copenhagen isn’t a cheap dining city, but still, I thought the prices were a bit high for what we got.
