Outrageous waiting time. This place definitely cannot be recommended. Steep prices but the service doesn’t make it any good value what so ever. Stay away.

I was 100% ready to give this place a 4 star review — burger and fries were pretty solid — but on my check, there was a 25KR charge for water. Generally when you ask for tap water, it’s expected that it’s free or the waiter warns you of the price beforehand. Paying the equivalent of $ 4.50 for a class of tap water is an insult to customers, especially when the menu lists that as the price for BOTTLED water. I was going to come back to try a shake or two, but now they’ve lost me as a customer for life. Shame.

I went here with a coworker, after wanting to rectify a not so great experience last week. When you enter the place, it very much looks like an american diner in the greatest way possible. I had heard that their milkshakes were absolutely amazing, so I ended up ordering one of those, and it was pretty darn great! It was pretty much perfect and how I want a milkshake to be. I went for their manbeef burger, which has more of the best stuff in a burger. To my surprise, it didn’t come with any fries on the side, so I had to order those as well. The butger itself was pretty good and juicy, although the bun was pretty dull. I’d definitely go back, if I feel like a milkshake — probaly not for a burger.

I love burgers and the American diner style, so I’m basically already biased going in. Greasy Spoon has been on my to-try-list for quite some time, but one day, when they posted their weekly burger special on Instagram, I knew I had to go! We were only two, so were seated at the bar looking into the kitchen, despite the fact that I had made a reservation. I would have much preferred to sit in one of the much more cozy-looking booths(of which there were quite a few empty ones during the entire duration of our dinner). I understand that you may want to keep some booths open for potentially larger walk-in groups, but the bar stools weren’t exactly comfy so that cut our stay shorter than it otherwise might have been. We went for their weekly special — a burger with fried chorizo, manchego cheese, chili mayo, and mango chutney. And man, was that one damn delicious burger! The combination of flavors was amazing, and one of the most unusual, tastiest ones I’ve ever tasted. It was nice and sloppy, impossible to eat, just as I like my burgers! Along with it came a heap of crispy, delicious fries, chili mayo, and a glass of crisp white wine(after all, I am a lady even with burger sauce dripping down my chin!). I also tried one of their milkshakes, which was a bit too sweet for my taste(but that’s just how milkshakes are, I guess). Prices were very fair for the generous portions. For the food, I would give 4 stars, but am subtracting one for(unnecessarily) being seated at the bar, which wasn’t really comfy for me. I’ll keep monitoring their Instagram for weekly specials to try next time.

Nothing special about this Place. The interior is similar to a Diner back in the states. The burger could easily have been from McD. No taste and no interesting toppings to add. Their milkshakes are really bad. Taste more of normal milk with a twist of strawberry.

Really good fries! There are so many burger places in Copenhagen; from the boring grill bar burger to the designer burger. This place is in between, and I love it! The interior is so charming. It reminds me of an American diner back home. The service is pretty relaxed, but still attentive. I haven’t been here a single time where I wasn’t impressed by the staff. The burgers here impress me. They’re not the over the top fancy café burger that abounds throughout our beautiful city. These burgers are the kind you dream about. Juicy, tasty, flavorful on a warm bun and with just the right amounts of veg to make it perfect. You can get regular size burgers, but sliders are also available. Sometimes I get the slider if I want to have more than fries as a side order. The Mac and cheese is pretty good, too, and but I must admit that I’m not a big fan of all that parsley… but the crowning glory for me are the fries. Crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside. The hot and salty flavor is pure love. I like that it’s location is in the city, but not on Strøget, so you get the chilled out relaxed vibe and don’t feel rushed. Order a table ahead of time because it’s a popular place to eat.

I love concept restaurants, and finding American diners in Europe always makes me happy. Therefore, I was really excited to try the Greasy Spoon. However, both times I’ve been there to eat I was disappointed. They have the look down — big booths and a long shiny counter with comfy red barstools. The food is just not at all memorable. The menu consists of mainly burgers, sliders and other sandwiches, but they also do brunch and mac and cheese among other things. I tried a burger the first time I went and I wouldn’t order it again. Copenhagen has so many great burger places that this is not where you go if that’s what you’re after. The second time I came for brunch and had pancakes and an egg and cheese slider, which were nothing more than OK(I mixed and matched, although they have 4 or 5 set brunch menus that you can order). Again, there are many cool brunch places in Copenhagen that blow this one out of the water. What I can really recommend though are the milkshakes, which is why I gave the restaurant 3 stars instead of 2. They are to die for delicious! Me and my boyfriend have been back 2 or 3 times since just to have them again. So if you’re in the mood for a decadent milkshake in a cute diner setting, Greasy Spoon is worth it. For the food, not so much.

I’d love to rate this place higher and to love it, but I just can’t. It does two things right — the ambiance and not over-cooking the burgers. Beyond that, it is unfortunately mediocre. The burgers were strikingly unremarkable, medium sized, and plain. The fries seemed old and were dry without much flavor. My friend’s milkshake was excellent though and perhaps the one other thing they’re really doing right. Prices are somewhat cheap, but only until you realize that they are for the burger by itself with fries etc. as add-ons. The level of service was also sub-par, even by Denmark’s low standards. They’ve tried to import some of the American wait-style(eg: a previous reviewer found it weird that the waiter sat down next to them for the order), but they haven’t balanced it with actually being attentive and responsive which is the key ingredient. If you’re in the mood for a fun theme’d restaurant and don’t overly care about the food, this is a solid option. If you want a quality burger, this isn’t worth wasting the time or money on.

I gave it two stars because I don’t think it worth the price. I ordered one Mac and cheese, which tasted so bland I had to kept on adding salt and Tabasco, just so I could enjoy it. My husband ordered a tenderloin steak, which was tender and moist, but too small portion. We also ordered two milkshakes, which was too much for me. For all of this we had to spend almost DKK500. Really not worth it! Service was slow as well. We waited for like good 20minutes before the waiter finally came and took our orders.

First day in Copenhagen, as the metro had a problem we had to take a little walk, so when we finally left our luggage at our hotel it was almost 3:00 and we were starving… Lucky us, we quickly found this little place with two sunny seats available outside. We actually didn’t understand the whole menu, so we picked up two different meals and two different beverages hoping for the best :) We could probably have asked the waitress but we felt like being wild. Anyway, the pulled pork sandwich was tasty and a little bit spicy, and I really enjoyed the sort of omelette with some ham, cheese, potatoes and tomatoes. It was absolutely not dry and simply delicious. The both plates were generous enough to skip the dessert, but I could come back another time to try their milkshakes !

Odd behaviour by the waiter, he sat down next to us in the booth. They did not have the dessert I had seen on their Instagram, but the burgers were decent. Somewhat artificially tasting milkshake but great fries.

Small American diner with average burgers but great fries and milkshakes . The burgers is okay, nothing special. The quality of the meat is good, but they could easily use more. The bun is below average. The fries and milkshakes are very tasty. The potatoes are fried to perfection. Especially I want to taste the strawberry shake again. They are very busy, so it is a good idea to make a reservation. We(me and my girlfriend) had reservation, but we were offered to share a tabel for 4 or to be seated at the desk. They could get 4 stars, but because of their seating policy and poor wardrobe they can only get 3 stars. I will pay them a visit again, if I’m in the area and fancy a burger.

Worst service ever. Rude waiter. They were out of various ingredients and didn’t suggest alternatives. Didn’t take orders because they were ‘a bit busy’ so we had to wait. Avoid this place!
