Place rating: 5 Frederiksberg, Copenhagen, Denmark
Well, since pretty much all of my spare time the past couple months has been spent at Trykkeriet, I guess I’m long overdue for a Unilocal review. Trykkeriet is the slightly edgier, slightly more hardcore branch of Crossfit Copenhagen’s quickly growing franchise. Located in an old print shop(hence the name) in Northwest Copenhagen, a couple blocks away from the enormous turkish bazaar that sells the cheapest cashews in Denmark(on Frederiksborgvej), you will find a few very important things: 1. chalk 2. barbells 3. kettlebells 4. a variety of places to do pull ups 5. hotties 6. big thighs 7. if you’re really lucky, some sweet hip hop tunes on the ‘ghetto blaster’ Listen, I just love me a weightlifting gym. Trykkeriet is the best one in Copenhagen. The people hanging out in the open gym area are a delightful and inspiring bunch. They all have amazing bodies which, personally speaking, helps me squat and deadlift just a little harder, and they will impress you as they lift very very heavy things(and then put them back down again, sometimes loudly, sometimes not so loudly, most times while grunting). This is the place to come, get fit, do healthy things, make friends, be inspired to get stronger, empower yourself, and if you’re up for it, kill yourself doing a hundred burpees in a crossfit class or two. Absolutely my most favorite place to spend a dark winter evening, or a sweaty summer afternoon. Pro-tip: protein powder blended with with organic full fat chocolate milk after an intense workout will blow your mind.
