CPH Sandwich & Coffee

The coffee shop I frequent the most in Copenhagen is by far CPH Sandwich & Coffee. This is due to the fact that it’s a 2 minute walk from my office, they give discounts to Nordea employees, and the ladies that work there are super sweet and know my order by heart. As someone that comes from LA (AKA, hot and sunny year round), I love an iced coffee. Not blended and with syrup, but just a good old, plain iced coffee. Although not on the menu, these ladies take care of me with an Iced Americano, and it brings me right back home every time.
FYI, I’m by no means a coffee expert. So, I can’t tell you if this is the best coffee in Copenhagen (which it’s not, especially compared to places like Coffee Collective), but it’s a fraction of the cost and gets the job done. Plus, these ladies actually practice my Danish with me. Bonus points :)

There are seriously days in my life where survival may not have been possible without the gracious services provided by the adorable icelandic sisters behind the thinktank CPH Sandwich & Coffee.
Honestly, it’s just your typical coffee and sandwich stop shop. They are not coffee artists by any stretch of the imagination — but their location (en route to my office from the metro) and the fact that they provide caffeine to go (sometimes adding extra shots for free if I look particularly frazzled), makes them my favorite place in the whole of Copenhagen between the hours of 8−10am, Monday through Friday.
They offer discounts for several of the business people in the area, which means I get a two kroner discount on my yogurt when I’m too lazy to make the exact same thing for myself at home for one quarter of the price. The less than two minutes I spend in here every morning waiting for them to make my coffee (an order they have memorized, by the way), is also the only opportunity I have to watch the Danish morning news programs, and while I never stick around to get the full story, I’ve seen less than two minutes of lots of interesting stuff, many times, without having to pay any cable bills. #winning
