Long waiting time between dishes. They were clearly understaffed in the kitchen. We went with the four course dinner which was decent at 350 kr per plate. Beers are on the expensive side.

I have been eyeing this place for a while now but sadly they missed the mark. They advertise«soul food from the deep south.» Now, I am not from those parts but I –am– from the States and have had so many hot wings in my life to compare these to. The Louisiana Hot Wings(80 dkk) are supposed to be crispy chicken wings with blue cheese sauce and while I did need the wet nap that was provided, I am used to a much messier dish. And maybe it was crispy when it came out of the kitchen but it wasn’t by the time it got to me. The blue cheese sauce was ok but I was missing some celery. Luckily(?) I had a giant stick of it with my Bloody Maria(95 dkk), which made me feel a bit cheated since it displaced so much of the drink. The Waffle & Shrimps(95 dkk) didn’t fare much better because although the huge shrimps were delicious, the waffle was too sweet and sogged up almost immediately. Although the restaurant was busy, the servers were friendly and tried to be as present as they could. This wasn’t a terrible dinner but for the price I was expecting a bit more. With such a great location, I wouldn’t be adverse to giving them another shot.

Menu kind of fun. Cocktails creative. Unfortunately they lose it on service. Friendly people but then they lose track of who has what table and ultimately the experience deteriorates. First time here. We will see. I can recommend the burger, wings, and ribs. Very tasty!

Wanna try dining experiences from the Bible Belt of US of A, but don’t have time or money to fly to the old confederacy yourself? Well, this is your invitation to try this lil spot. Good creative ideas fill up their menu, the flavor is decent, however the execution could have been a little sharper if they want them good ol’ five stars. I had: Old fashioned moonshine cocktail with blackberry(strong, but good) Ceviche with Cod Jerked Quail Fries Popcorn Sundae with caramel sauce The cocktail was strong and good, my mother and sister had a sip but it was way too boozy for them. Worked great for me. They do have a decent cocktail card so you can start out with something«eclectic». Ceviche with cod was a little something«south of the border» the border they tried to incorporate. I think it is always good to start out with ceviche, as it usually entails a light, aromatic fish starter. That’s what I got. Neat. I ordered the Jerked quail because I love jerked stuff ever since my glorious trip to Jamaica back in the day. Did they nail the authentic jamaican jerked taste? No, it was a little to cinnamony from the Tropical Island Jerked Seasoning jar I brought back from the Island. Was it their intention? No, their intention was their interpretation of the island flavor. Good idea, however the execution lacked a little. Would love to see them make jerked pork however. Their Fries were the best«restaurant» fries I’ve had in CPH so far. Yes, even better than Sokkelund! Try them! The Popcorn Sunday was an interesting little idea. Popcorn infused vanilla ice cream with caramel sauce and popcorn on top. A nice little way to end the meal. However, if they want the five stars they would have had to pull a homemade twinkie out of the hat. I’m still hoping they do that one day. 4 stars and that’s it y’all!

I was invited here by a great friend. The restaurant is cosy, and well decorated. Dimly lit, great design and interior. The service was ok, could use a tightening up, as we had just sat down and were overwhelmed by a monologue about the menu. Always let the customer settle in, and ask if we are ready to look at the menu. We chose the Social Menu, which consists of 5 dishes you share. The food was absolutely delicious. The food was beautifully presented. and was even«fun to eat», using your fingers was a must(that is always a plus for me). We chose a Californian white wine from Napa. It went well with most of the food served. I strongly recommend the social menu. We were full and very content when done.

Yup, this is one of my all-time favorite restaurants in Copenhagen! I will try to keep this short and sweet, because if I start raving on, there’s probably no stopping me. I’ve lived in New Orleans for a while, and I’ve been on the lookout for a place with great Southern food(House of Souls is another great address for that, btw), and I’m so, so glad that Alabama Social is here to fulfill all my cravings for hot wings, jerk chicken, and cornbread! The hot wings definitely deserve a special shout-out; as do the fries, which are just perfection, served with creole mayo. Their menu changes regularly, and they’re recently started serving Po’ Boy sandwiches for lunch, which I’m eager to try. Staff has always been friendly and attentive, and I’m personally a huge fan of both the location by the lakes and the interior with dark wood and open kitchen. Bottom line is, I cannot recommend this place enough, and I wish I could eat there every day(and not get fat)!

if you are visiting Copenhagen one of the good spots to check out is the area around the lakes. Especially the many bars and restaurants on Sortedam Dosseringen. After attending an underground event we felt in the mood for a nightcap and a few starters to share. Fortunately the kichen at Alabama Social was stil open 10PM’ish, so we picked some crab cakes, cornbread and lobsters accompanied with the sour Alabama Punch. Very nice combination. The service was very good and the night air was warm and pleasant, atmosphere vibrant and the room(s) kitchy — with a touch of scandinavian feng shui. Will definately go again, and go all in on cajun.

Great American style food with a slightly scandanavian twist on spices. My boyfriend and I shared the 7 course pre fixe and found all delicious. The Albuquerque oysters are great and worth trying. My boyfriend loved the wings and felt a little comforted by its similarity to our US home wings. The ceviche needed a bit more citrus for my tasting but ceviche happens to be my favorite food so I may be a bit of a tough critic on this. I liked their flavored popcorn they brought to the table for snacking. It was a nice twist. The drinks were also great. All around I’d say this is the same high quality we would expect coming from NY and Philly and at around the same price. Worth a nice night out.

A mixed experience. Normally, i really love Madklubbens restaurants, but something kinda fell through the cracks here. Sure, southern food is awesome, and the music at the location was perfect for it, but everything served, food and drinks, it kinda lacked the bite and fullness that i would associate with southern food. So lets break it down. Cocktails — Too soft. Good taste, but no Spice to the rum, no zest to the lime. Food — Chili/spicy at this place was wierd. The lime/citrus-taste to the hotwings was odd, it was more sharp then hot. The gumbo… the gumbo rocks, and the cornbread was perfect. Try it :) Now the oysters. Oysters are awesome. Oysters are the pure taste of the western ocean. And they should not be smothered in condiments. Sure, you can modify, you can add a bit of flavour, but covering oysters in a different taste is a no go. So sadly, they are not worth the bother. And the wine is excellent, especially the white wine. Service…was mixed. Very kind, a bit confused, and the food came too slow sadly. Good for drinking though. For a Copenhagen place, its really good with the southern feel and ideas, but i hope it will mature in time.
