Blackdog Bar&Grill

Always love their burgers. Too bad that its a bit small place but the food is amazing.

Many people were recommending this restaurant to me. So one day, when my wife´s parents were visiting, we took a car and on the way to Šumava, we stopped at Beroun for a lunch and yes, we went to Black Dog Bar&Grill.
As I understood, the original restaurant was smaller and cozy. Well, success is success so I understand that they moved. But I like this place. It´s not huge, but big enough. It´s spacious and sparingly decorated. Chairs could be more comfortable but it´s not a big deal.
Service could be better though. There were more waitresses. Maybe one of them was really great but other three were more or less average. But OK, burgers, burgers are that thing what brought us here.
And they were very good. Not the best ever, but they made it to my personal top ten. And I like the names of burgers. I had the Jealous wife burger and I have to say that habanero peppers were perfect idea. Creativity is always valued. We didn´t try any of their tapas, tortillas or steaks but I saw some on the other table and they looked pretty delicious so the next time.

We heard rumors of an amazing burger joint outside of Prague. We were told that we HAD to come try it so we did. I must say that the quality of the food was damn good. My Chupacabre burger really was incredible.
What brings my review down to 2 stars is the service and pricing.
We sat down and days passed before our order was taken. We enjoyed the food but I needed more drink half way through my meal. It didn’t come for another 15 minutes. We wanted dessert but didn’t feel like the service could bring it before the sun set (this was a lunch).
The costs of the burger was what I expected but what pissed me off was getting charged for a tiny side of ketchup. I expect that at fast food joints but my first experience from a quality restaurant.
The owners charge for the BS condiments only because they know they can get away with it.
I recommend this only if your in Beroun but don’t make the trip especially for it. However, beware that it is a pretentious restaurant and don’t expect good service.
